awesome tank, great colors
Thanks Leonardo, I am planning on getting some pictures taken by an actual photographer ASAP so I can do a better FTS at that time. To be honest I'm sure I have some nitrates/phosphates since I am always struggling with valona growing but I don't actually bother testing.Nice pictures Greg, do you have a larger FTS (in partitions) for us maybe?Another question, do you measure/detect any nitrates in the tank?Leonardo
Thanks very much for the compliment, I am impressed with your tank as well. I have heard that these butterflies can tend to nip at corals but that has not been my experience. They are model citizens in my reef but I also feed pellets 5 times a day, small amounts via auto-feeders. They do well in a group and school quite a bit, I have 4 of them.kamberman -WOW! Awesome pics and animals!!!!
I'd like some info about those Pyramid Buterflies. If they are reef-safe, what do you feed them, how long do you have them and if they behave better as a group. Thank you
Thank youTom Foolery-
WOW!
Simply amazing
Thank you.Dejavu - Wow Greg... the tank is looking great!
Many thanks.shark007 - Your tank is amazing Great job!!!!!
Thanks Moses, I wish I had more money to spend on fancy equipment too.Western_reefer - WOW WOW WOW!! The tank is absolutely AMAZING! I wish I had the money for some serious filtration and a calcium reactor for SPS, ect for my 180 gallon, but its not going to happen any time soon as I'm only 16. lol
You're very kind, thanks.Lytehouse - Wonderful tank...
Outstanding colors. Great camera work.
Thanks poodpood - Beutiful tank and picture.
I run a couple of phosban reactors with Rowaphos. My skimmer is a Euro-Reef RC500.kinlayan - How do you deal with phosphate issues, do you use Gfo? , what skimmer do you use?
My front glass is 12 MM tempered Starphire and the rest is 5/8" regular........Congrats on permission to upgradebullitr - greg,
how thick is your glass/ or is it acrylic
i am finally convinced my wife to upgrade my 300 to 420 starphire see through
with same dimension
thanks
I'm not sure I'd trust them but it is an interesting point. That said my emperor angel still picks at stuff and is starting to do some serious damage to a colony of birdnest (seriatopora caliendrum) leaving many bare skeletal patches.:mad2:Great thread Greg, thanks for that.
Looks like multiple feedings per day might be the key, ... and I wonder if this could be extended onto other butterfly species with tendencies to nip.. so long as whatever the feeders dole out is something the butterflies will eat.![]()
