yeah, mine looks nothing like that, is it possible ora has two types they are selling as bottlebrush?

gflat65

Yours is the reason I am asking I have seen 1 other here local, and they look the same as mine and yours.I have seen others that are different.

I have the blue one and the tips are BRIGHT blue. Unfortunately, it is only about 1.5" at the current time. I had to move it as I was getting no growth where it was at.

Maggie, did you see mine when ya'll were up here?? It's insanely blue tipped with a orange-y base and inner branch..

Here is the progression of coloration.

Randy posted some pics of the ORA blue tip bottle brush in another forum. I may be in for a trade for it;).

The tips are much bluer now.

Hopefully, it will turn out like yours gflat. That colony looks awesome.

I Have one and it finally started to get its real rich blue . For me it has been a very slow grower. I have even seen one recently at a LFS so I know ORA still has this strain.

yes that is the other one that I was talking about. It looks like a twin to the one we have. Here is a few pics of what I think is the same thing.

This one of the 3 colonies we have.It has not colored up yet the colony is about 4" it is not from ora it is a Tonga cultured.

Ours looks more like gflat65 & TCU Reefer's. dkle yours is different than what I have seen at SueT's house and others.

Maggie,

The first shot look slike A. cerealis or somethign besides A. tenius (which is what I think th ORA bottlebrush is). The tenius has more flared coralites, where the first pic shown has more rounded coralites. I like them both:).

If you look on the right side of my 1st pic you will see it is starting to form a bottelbrush look on the new growth.

dkle I must not of looked at your 1st pic it does look like the same thing. I am not the best at ID's on acros so what do you guys think.
