Ora Misty purple acro

Here is my piece of the ORA Misty Purple. It is an enormous frag on a purple plug. I paid $49 for it. I apologize for the cell phone pic. The colors on this coral are subtle. The body is a tanish/green, tips are a faint purple and pink, polyps are tan/yellow, and coralites are faint orange/yellow. My pic does it no justice....

This is under my supplemental T5 (Geisemann Pure Actinic, ATI Blue+, KZ Fiji Purple) after the MHs went out. Under just my Radiums, the coral gets a bit washed out. Needless to say, in order to get decent coloration, a bluer tank will help

Well ORA didn't ship the Misty Purples with the store order. They did however substitute the Micronesian Mauve which I am extremely happy with. Watch the Marshall Island stuff, as my plug was loaded with vermitid snails.

Mine is still tanish with a real light green tint almost mint like.

I am jealous of the Micronesian Mauve Ive been wanting that one but haven't seen one yet

Micronesian Mauve is an underated ORA frag. Its growth is like the Purple Monster. I used to have one before my tank crash 7 months ago. The purple is pretty deep and I used to get light purple/pink tips with white polyps. I definitely want a new frag of it.

Ok here is a pic of mine under 10ks they completly wash it ou. In my frag tank I have some small cuttings which are more of the mint green with purple tips

Lost my original think I light shocked it so picked up a second one here are the pics under 14k. I cant get the white balance just right however second pic is fairly close to actual color with a touch of purple on the tips

New frag has only been in there for 3 hours and was just moved to that spot for photos. keeping it in the frag tabk till it adjusts this time.

I lost mine also. I think it was doomed from the start. I had mine shipped from the west coast and while at the fed-ex in Tennessee, the box was likely kept near a heat source. When I received it the bag water of the frags I got were like bath water. I am surprised my frag lasted as long as it did. I cant tell if it is a touchy piece. Once mine acclimated it was nice for about a week and then started to darken a bit. Then within a couple days it started to STN and lose coloration. I am still looking for a replacement, but ORA is not releasing a lot of these pieces. The low price point(for ORA at least) of $39-$49 for a monster frag leads me to believe this is either a delicate coral, or likely an abundant common piece found in the Marshall Islands. IMO, it is not a must have like the Pearlberry, Red Planet, Chip's, etc. If I don't find another, I'll get over it.

Got this Misty Purple yesterday from LFS.

Its pretty breached under LED but couldnt pass up for 25 bucks. Hopefully colors up in no time..
