Ordered a Gigantea from Live Aquaria. Advice wanted.

Nice..sounds like it's right on course. I have ordered gigs off live aquaria in the past not on the wysiwyg section, and found them to be very healthy and arrived in great shape. I believe they ship them from Los Angeles instead of W.I.

GL...

Thanks, it did ship from Los Angeles, it is definetly healthier than the other anemones I have ordered in the past off of DD.

The haddonis I ordered in the past were shipped from Wisconsin to Ohio in the middle of the winter. They always arrived cold and never sticky like this one. My apartment in Ohio was at the very end of the overnight route and it always sat on his truck for 8 hours even with priority overnight guaranteed by 11AM . In New Mexico the standard overnight package is put on the Truck in Albuquerue around 8AM and driven 2 hours to where I live, I must be the begining of my route because i get my packages around 11 just 3 hours on the truck from the airport.

Awesome! have the onyx gone near it yet?
Beautiful Nem Hope it settles in for the long run!

I caught the female thinking about kissing it yesterday, the male was doing circles. They know that there parents lived in a Gigantea and that they must as well.:fish1: Rod's fish are Hosting happy anyway.

I have wanted a Gig for a long time the tank was designed for it. in the back of my head i just knew finding a healthy one was going to be very hard. I let this tank sit from october 09 to July 11 because i knew that you need an established tank. when i saw them on LA as in stock i knew from watching the LA website i had 2-3 week to get the tank ready. I ordered the light last friday and started doing water changes.

the only thing I've done to the tank since 09 was add an african flameback angel and do bi annual water changes.

Edit; just checked live aquaria's website and they are Out of Stock.

Did you creat that spot for it in the rocks? Is its foot hidden beneath the rocks somehow or is it just attached to the rocks?

Looks great!!! I am certainly deciding on getting one once their back in stock

It is in a natural depression in the rock, I placed the rock there with the intention of placing the anemone there.

when I released the anemone I put it in that spot and held it there until it let go of my glove while the anemone attatched and settled. After it had its foot attatched I started to aim and turn up the pumps so that it gets heavy alternating current.

Yep. I ordered some haddoni's in the winter time from DD (shipped from wi to texas) in the past and both times, the shipping water was literally in the 50's. Lesson learned!

I had lowered the flow on the anemone last night thinking it might like that. Well it did not like it and was slightly deflated this moring when i turned the lights on.

after i was done moving pumps and getting the flow where i wanted it my male Rod's onyx jumped right in. these photos were taken seconds after the clown went in.

I am so happy for you....i received the email notification from them saying the had then in stock....but I was very low on funds what else is new right. But congrats and hope I get as lucky as you when my time comes:-D:-D:-D:-D

Looks good. As EC stated, mine prefers flow right above it and it comes into the flow more than. It doesn't care to have it pointed right at it though it seems

good luck with it. very unusual coloration on that. would like to see how that plays out over time.

i would recommend pulling back on the feeding, especially in the early goings here while it is acclimating. i havent fed mine directly in a few months (probably will this week now that i think of it), my understanding is that it takes a lot of energy for the anemone to digest the food properly and if it is stressed from shipping etc. that could cause issues.

yours seems to be doing well though so good luck.

It looks real good in the pic's with the flash. Sure ain't bleached. I think it may look very much like Gary's once it settles in.
