I was reading some military stuff about WWI and WWII today as I often do. I like reading about military stuff, especially history. I know at least 3 folks on these board work for Lockheed/Martin right now!
anyway, I came across some really cool pictures of the Lockheed plant back in the 40s. I have never seen these pictures or knew that we had gone this far to protect ourselves back then. Especially inside our boarders! It's common place to see camouflage deep inside the battlefield lines, but not in the middle of our country! . During World War II the Army Corps of Engineers needed to hide the Lockheed Burbank Aircraft Plant in case of Japanese air attack. They covered it with camouflage netting to make it look like a rural subdivision from the air.

this one shows it close to the ground so you can see through the netting, you can imagine how realistic it would look from high up!
