OT - RC Airplanes

Rock on dude. I should be there around noon or so. I need to get the setup on my Cap232 finished up.

In Phoenix try going into edit screen under model and select detailed. Go to fine tuning and up the value for tip stall tuning. That should help. :)

I was looking at FPV stuff and found this. http://fpvpilot.com/UsedFPVProducts.aspx I am seriously considering it.

Thanks! I think that will help.

That's a great deal man - you should get it. :bounce1: Heck, it would be hard to get all the FPV stuff for that price.

I think I found a good replacement engine for the Cap.

While it's down I'm going to recover it and put a new set of graphics on it as well.

Wow! That is a killer deal on that TRex 500. And if you don't want to use the 6200 it comes with, I'll buy it from ya. :D

Why not the v-twin, Zach? ;)

Brandon

I emailed the guy with some questions about it and am waiting to hear back. That heli new without the FPV stuff is worth over $500. Of course it is used but still not a bad deal.

That is a cool looking engine. I am sorry about your other one. That was the best sounding nitro 2 stroke I have ever heard. At least the plane made it back in one piece.

Oh, btw Brandon. The cedar trees claimed another victim yesterday. A nice scale T28 went down in the middle of them. They found it pretty quickly at least.

It's pretty powerful, and should be heavy enough to balance out the plane properly. Good price too. No worries on the engine, now I will routinely check head bolts and other screws on my engines :) It did sound pretty sweet though. The gasser will be cheaper to run long term, I didn't think that tank would ever fill up yesterday :lolspin:

Hopefully everything checks out with the FPV system. That would be awesome to have :D

Mike's new rule - no flying over the cedar trees

Bought the Evo 35 GT2 :) Hopefully it gets here this week. Can't wait to hear what this bad boy sounds like.

The field is only about 15 or 20 minutes from you... you know you want to come out. :D

I've seen your planes in hiding... time to take them out and put them in the air again, Rick. :D :p

Brandon

I still fly them. I just walk out my front door and launch them. Only have one flyable at the moment. Its my FPV plane without the camera.

Sounds like you guys have some trees tha like to eat planes where you fly :P

Haha! Maybe we should just all start coming to your place. Mow a strip about 60x400' in your front hard that's only 1.5" tall and I'll be there. :D

Brandon

Right now is perfect. The grass stopped growing and the grass is mowed short for winter. I love this time of year, no more lawn to mow :D

Anytime. I have the homebrew ready to go :celeb3:

BTW the front yard is only 200' x 315' long so you better get used to landng on a carrier hahaha..... J/K its not that bad.

Do it, you will have a blast. It takes a little while to get used to flying with the goggles, but it is really cool. I use rangevideo.com for most stuff.

I'm still thinking about it but there are a couple of snags. First, he sold the ground station and only has the heli he will sell for $500. Not quite as good of a deal but still pretty good. Also, the guy who has the FPV plane at the field is having problems with 900mhz there. We think it is the cell tower that is pretty close. He has some sophisticated stuff and it works very well at other locations but not at our field. Thanks for the link, I have several I have been looking at lately. Mind boggling all the options.

Heck that road going into your house should be a perfect landing strip!

Yea, sounds like some sort of interference around there. I used 900mhz stuff also. You could use 2.4 ghz, but that could interfere with the radios and the signal is not as good as the 900mhz. There are tons of options out there now,it pretty amazing. When I started using it we had to DIY most things ourselves.

Brandon needs alot more space than that Bill :lolspin: He needs the whole yard.

I think I am going to get it anyway. It is still a pretty good deal. I might get another frequency TX and RX so I can switch them out if I have to.
