OT Ready for Some Snow?!

So, tomorrow there is supposed to be a major snowstorm, and some meteorologists are predicting power outages from the wind gusts. UH-OH!
Better get ready- for both keeping your tanks warm :spin1: and shoveling this massive snow amount
Sounds like a great day to me! :lmao:

Of course, the weathermen could be completely wrong...

I'm ready! It's been a fairly mild winter hasn't it? I just moved from Texas so this is my first winter here. It hasn't been that bad. And I've been waiting to see how often my power goes out to determine if I need a generator or not.

So far....we have not had the power go out at all. KNOCK ON WOOD!!:hammer:

Aghh every school keeps getting canceled but mine lol. Usually Stamford Public Schools don't announce a closing till the day of the storm, and same goes for most colleges. Most of my college and high school friends have already had a cancellation for tomorrow but me!?

Funny how they "name" storms up here when the snow is going to be over 6 inches. Like hurricanes.

Snowstorm "Barbara" they are calling it. Hmmmm...

I love that commercial where the kids are watching TV and they start jumping up and down.
Then you see it's because school was canceled. Funny!

I dont think we have cancellations. A few times, teachers have cancelled if they cant come in, but the entire university hasn't. Hell, my bio prof. xc skied to class last year.

the lone perk of this whole townhouse thing we bought into is that the association does all the plowing and shoveling for us... *phew* :bounce3:

This brings nice memories from not so distant past. I wish I was back in collage...

I have a 6-8 page motion for summary judgment due Thursday night. My problem is, of course, that despite school getting canceled for tomorrow night, I work from home, and STILL have to work. :wildone:

Being "back in college" ain't all it's cracked up to be... :celeb3:

I still have to dig myself out and head to work in the morning so hopefully I can get in by 7 and out by 3 before it gets too bad.. At least the wife and kid will be home..

After 7 years in the Army

I did just over 8, what was your MOS? I was a 33P - electronics repair. I was at my current job a bit over 8 when I started school again. Hmmm, I was married about that long the first time too. All overlapping thankfully.

Now that I'm there, I wish I was still in the Army. The grass is always greener... :thumbdown

Not me! :) The Army set me up for my current job, so I'd do it all over again, but no way I'd go back. My timing could not have been better getting out when I did (1997).

I just hope the snow continues through the night to cancel classes tomorrow!!

HEAR HEAR!!
