OT: Which aquarium to visit?

So we're planning a possible short trip in the coming weeks an I figured to pose here for opinions.

Which would you go to and why? New England aquarium in Boston or National Aquarium in Baltimore, or maybe something else?

I've been to the one in Boston, but it was almost 30 years ago and neither is going to be much more of a drive. We're not looking to stay long so other attractions aren't much of a consideration. I guess I'm basing my decision mostly on aquarium content

We went to Boston about a month ago. Parking in Boston was $46 for the first 91 minutes. Admission line wait was about an hour. I think I paid about $100 to get in- wife, daughter and myself....
No SPS (not that I'm a fan of them). A fair amount of LPS. Far too many anemone. All the same pink ones. It seemed like they have a problem with them like some have problems with aptasia.
The Jellyfish tanks were bare tanks, but pretty impressive nonetheless.
The Searay / Shark petting tank was probably the highlite.

Ive been to both and was very impressed by both. I like the city of Boston better than Baltimore, but it is expensive.

Ok, looking pretty strong for baltimore! Both my girls, 4 and 7, are animal freaks so they're gonna be totally into it.

A good one for kids is the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ. It's not nearly as good as Baltimore if you are an avid reef enthusiast, but still nice if you've never been. It's more geared towards kids, and definitely worth the visit at least once. I've been there twice, and the second time wasn't quite as astonishing. Baltimore however, I could visit everyday if I had the opportunity.

Used to live in Baltimore. Tons to do nearby. DC zoo is close by and free. The aquarium is nice but its 3hrs at best. Great city to visit on any budget. Driving can be tricky. The trains are really safe and user friendly.

The line getting into the Baltimore Aquarium can be several hours. I've tried to fit a visit into several trips to Baltimore and never made it in.

Have been to Boston several times and I'm a big fan. Parking is insane, but I value my time too much to wait in line for three hours.

You gotta get to Baltimore early in the morning or day and buy your tickets, then you should have time to go grab a bite to eat or a drink before you go into the aquarium.

From the looks of it you can get tickets for the Baltimore aquarium online with a scheduled entry time. That would be the way to go for me as my kids would surely not tolerate a 3 hour wait to get in :spin2:

I think it's pretty well settled the we're going there.

Good idea on the online tickets. Still, make sure to arrive 30 mins or so before your entry time. If you have to kill time, there is a submarine that you can pay a small fee to walk through. Kids really fine that pretty interesting

Inner harbor has plenty to do. Science center is good. The bookstore (borders?) Has a huge freshwater tank. Good eats, little Italy is walking distance. Fells point is rowdy at night. Family friendly by day. Some cool historical stuff. The basilica is impressive and only a couple miles away. High end shopping mall if your into that. Baltimore is mostly blue collar, but has decent big city appeal. Staying in the burbs between dc and baltimore reduces cost considerably. Almost everything is free in dc.

Pick a city you want to visit aside from aquarium. I like them all. I usually visit aquariums in every city I travel to. Too bad not every city has one.
