Our 250g Deltec

Big day for us, after 'bedding in' the LR for 12 weeks, today we put in our first fish, a Formosan Coris. We've had him in our quaran. tank for about 6 months and have added him for pest control (crabs/shrimps etc.) over the next month or so. Be nice to see it morph while in our care.

Hey Manta, nice set up.

My wife is from Airdrie....not too far from you, especially since we now live in Oklahoma.

I like your set up, what lights do you have? oes the deltec allow for growth of macro algaes in a sump?

Its a small world Paul, another one thats escaped the rain lol. Lights are Giesemann 2x 250w + 2x 24w blues. Yep he's a real beauty Jeffie with character to match.

wow!!

I really like that tank...it is really neat looking. It looks like you put alot of time into the preperation of this poject and i cant wait to watch it unfold! :)

THanks for sharing :)

Beautiful setup Manta! Top notch equipments and I love your aquascape. Can't wait till it's filled w/ corals and fish. Keep the pics coming!

Where can one pick up those live rock brommies? Is that something you did yourself or can it be purchased? I want to redo my tank and i have been thinking of doing something like what you have done, or adding locline with the spraybar atachments.

Thanks.

Sorry for the late replies folks, pperez its something we've done ourselves and is not that difficult to do. Theres lots of ways of introducing flow under the rock - I guess locline would work perfectly well in a closed loop setting.

Kiel'thalin - no updates on the main tank to show yet - we're currently using an octopus to rid the tank of nasties and have to wait for Red Sea deliveries before stocking the tank in earnest.

Had been using a Juwel Rio 180 as a QT, but due to my brothers tank break-up we will now be using a Juwel Vision 180. Same volume (45 gal) but more compact and with much more skim power (Deltec MCE 600). Yippee - another tank to set up.......

as soon as i saw that full tank shot, i decided that your aquascape was sooooooo cool, even though it was so simple, i love the fact that they are little islands. good luckj man. what other fish you gonna get?? let me guess. a regal/naso tang??

Hi grink dude, stocking plan strictly Red Sea at mo so intention is Regal angels/Semilarv & Redback butterflies and the like. No Naso or Sohal as i don't deem the tank to be big enough.

Thanks for comments GSMguy, have to say so far that the loop system works great. As the cabinet is topless I can look up through bottom glass to check flow.

Almost finished all the bits & pieces left to do, have added a 15w actinic to QT which should prove useful. Also currently sorting out a refugium and have bought first livestock (pics to follow).
