Danskim - Thanks I got a lot more to go...

Well I picked up my tank today. Whew it is pretty heavy. It took 6 guys to be safe. Now I really need to get to work. Here are some pics..

Well back to work...

Thanks Goodwin

Thirscmann thanks I am getting closer. I would like to have the cycle over by ThanksGiving so I transfer some livestock. Will work for frags. Has anyone ever talked about doing any group buys at ORCA? I need to give Matt a call.

Thanks NanoGurl I really love the width. The extra width is sweet. next will be the 4 ft wide. I don't think I will go taller than 25.

I got a double float autopoff from www.autotopoff.com

Drywall mud is not favorite past time. I had to do a mermaid pic. Here is my mermaid with a 5 month in her belly.

WOW I just found your thread bro. Great start! Very well planned out. I can't wait to see things start coming together. There is nothing as exiting as starting a new tank.

P.S The reeflo Darts are amazing pumps. I have two of them on my closed loop and I have never been happier with any other pump.
Also, congratulations on the baby!!! Great mermaid shot!

I just ordered basically the same tank, so I'm looking forward to the rest of your build... You're probably at least 2 months ahead of me.

So it took 6 people including yourself to carry it?
Did you use those cool suction grip things?
I am concerned about bringing my tank home because it's actually 3/4" glass all around...

congrats on your display making it home. oh thats a beautiful mermaid, but how will she survive without water and oxygen in the display :D also have you decided on her diet and vitamin supplements  ? i have some of glass cages display, they are very overbuilt with braces on the top, each corner and the bottom has the same eurobrace too. how big are the overflows boxes on each end?

ssbreef- thanks love your build I have about 80%planned and hopefully everyone will help with the rest

danskim- It took 6 including myself. it is heavy but really difficult to move through the door. So 4 would have really been pushing it. Evan with 4 big guys. Moving the tank made me realize i need to start working out. I Pm you about Glass Cages. A couple have guys have asked the same questions. So a quick update about them. The seams looked better then I thought i would get. For me the in wall made it easy to choose them. I know a lot of people are concerned with there customer service. one thing I didn't like is the tank was not completly wrapped with shrink wrap. i was afraid about scratching. Overall I am happy with the tank.

Bart- there is a lot of bracing exactly like you mentioned. The overflows are 7x12 so i guess that is a total 52 inches of the linear overflow. Did I say that right? Its late ..Glass cages would not do external overflows and he made it clear to me that he felt it was stronger this way. So i figured I would try them out. Next tank will without a doubt have external overflows. Did you make your duro pipes? I can't remember or did you by them from CJ.

pcostanzo- thanks hopefully I can make some progress Sunday. Going fishing tomorrow..

Here are some close up pics of the tank

awesome, glad your tank made it smooth. Nice looking truck and mermaid as well..... My mermaid is about 5 months too, so it looks like our builds are similar in more ways than one ;)

Wow that tank looks solid, pretty sure you don't have to worry about that hing.

I am hoping to have my filtration and frag tank setup for about a month before Thanksgiving. Let me know if you want to get in on a group buy later in the year, I know I would like to get in on that. ORCA goes to ORA sometimes, maybe we can set something like that up with the club near Christmas.

Keep us updated.

Very nice tank.I was going to buy from gc but opted not to because I have read a few threads where people were not happy and since I live in Canada I didn't want to have any problems. From what I can see the tank is well built.I have always had glass tanks.I like the look of glass.I will have to get used to acrylic.I hope my tank doesn't scratch.I did get a good magnet and a buffing kit(cost me $169)

thirschmann- Thanks. I am definetly in on the group buy. What exactly is everyone planning on ordering? Please shoot let me know when you have more info. Down the line I want to make some type of frag tank. My problem is room.

steve- There are a lot of mixed reviews about them. I think the a lot has to deal with customer service. Overall I think I will be very happy. I paid a little over $1500 for the tank with low iron panels, overflows, overflow covers, 2 drilled holes in each return, and 4 bulkheads. I think that was a fair price. They also dropped it off about 15 minutes away from my house.
