I agree with the other posts on removing scratches with sandpaper and finishing up with a D/A polisher. I wet-sanded with 600 and then followed up with my Porter Cable DA with a foam pad with Novus 3. Worked great!

Ok metal construction part is all but done. Next I would Like to clean it up and get it coated with some truck bed liner.

ok the stand looked massive until we put the tank on it. Im going to get the foam under and the wood trimmed. Then order new bulk heads and do a test to see if everything holds.

Nice work on the stand, wow what a deep tank? Looks small when the tank is on the ground but when its on the stand,it looks massive, good luck on the build and keep us posted.

Ohh yeah the stand holds And I think it holds water let me check...............................................................................................

Update After attempting to Glue Round cut out disks of 2000 grit sand paper onto my orbital sanding disk and sand the tank attempts failed. I brought a Rigid sander that hold the sheets right in and went to town with some 1200 grit. I took some time but got all the scratches. I was using a spray bottle to wet the surface. But I would say that was a bad Idea I switched to the hose with a spray nozzle and it cleaned the surface so much better and I could see where I was working. I then sanded the whole thing down with 2000 grit.

Next I started to Use a Car Buffer. Not the Orbital kind the kind that spins with a Foam buffing disk. I got 80% of the scratches out but need to do additional buffing to get it perfect. I will say u can see some distortion where I use a heavy grit on the side to some extremely deep scratches out. But for the most part it look awesome.

I would say anyone could get scratches out just takes time.

ok got the Plumbing done and also got My new Reeflo Hammerhead Gold Pump in I did a wet test and this moves some serious water I also have three horizontally mounted 1 1/2 check valves. I was worried the would not close fast or rattle shut like the old 540 but I think the extra size and tank height shut them fast.

Next I sheeted the Stand and Canopy made of 2 x 4s with some 3/4 blondewood plywood. I also added a back frame to hold it tight onto the steel stand.
