Paracheilinus Attenuatus (Diamond Tail Flasher wrasse)

Beautiful one just came up on divers den tonight. Well worth it at the $299 price tag with a 14 day guarantee.

I agree :)

Yup yanked from my cart

Sorry Bryan; you can blame Hunter for my love of Wrasses! After two DOA's from NYA, I was stoked to see one on DD today. I was going to drive out to NYA next time he got them in, so this guy will save me time and money. In case any of this makes you feel any better (which I'm sure it won't, but at least I tried!).

I can assure it's going to a good home. :) (no, I didn't buy it)

Thanks Hunter

Lol, Marshall I am glad you got it. I received 2 from NYA that didnt make it either, but did get a 3rd one from them which survived.

My friend got the first one from Divers Den earlier this year. I hope to get another, next time I will be faster ;)

Wow, sorry to hear you had two losses as well :/ I guess 3rd time is the charm. I take it yours is a female? At least next time you won't have any competition from me :)

I think mine may be a transitional male, if that. Certainly does not look like the terminal male like the one you got from divers den. NYA was very good about the deceased wrasses, the only loss I incurred was their shipping. Unfortunatly even if I am not competing with you Marshall, there still is a long line :)

Alright, to make good on what I promised a while back, here's mine.

But I apologize for not having a "great" photo(s); these are the best I could manage.

In the acclimation box:

With flash:

And here's how he looks now, with the black he developed shortly after being in the tank:

Hi Hunter. Mine has that black also. Looks very similar to yours. Mine rarely flashes, seems to be a little threatened by my McCoskers. Wonder if the black stays or will leave as the fish matures into a terminal male.

After almost 4 weeks in QT, I moved mine into my acclimation box in my 125. In there I was able to get some decent shots of him. He was flashing quite a bit, so I think I got a few good ones. Hope you enjoy!

First, a couple without using the flash:

And now with the flash:

And for kicks, here is LA/DD's shot of him:

anybody going for the trio on dd tonight? i'm still not set on it or not but only have a few hours to decide. i figure the two females would certainly help keep the male looking his best and it's hard to find a pair let alone a trio, so maybe it's worthwhile when coupled with DD/LAs guarantee.

thanks for all the contributions and photos in this thread as well as it was one of the most helpful thus far in my research.

The trio is a very nice find; not something that's at all a frequent opportunity.

It will sell fast; very fast. You must be quick.
