Paracheilinus Attenuatus (Diamond Tail Flasher wrasse)

Wrasse

So those of you who obtain high end wrasse do you QT the fish? Some folks say no need to QT as they are very sensitive to medications.

I have a rhomboid in my QT fish just came in to the LFS two days ago. It is doing well in my QT copper is at 0.3. Fish is eating well. Start to pick at pellet as well. I figure i will keep it in QT for 14 to 21 days

Just curious as what others do with fairy wrasses. QT or not.?

Mines in my QT and is still very shy, its impossible to get a decent pic at this point.

Mike, I always QT mine but I usually only do two rounds of prazi and then monitor for at least a month. I dont like to use copper on them if I can help it, its really hard on them.

I usually qt the fish as well but don't use copper either. I haven't had a problem with ich or anything like that. Glad to hear your fish arrived alive and is doing ok. Mine is on its way here now!! Picking up first thing in the morning and really excited. Set up a 30 breeder for it with some rock and pvc to hide in and a tight fitting lid :D

No confusion at all, fairies and flashers do it too.
Indeed.

And possum wrasses
Basically any wrasse that isn't a sand sleeper.

I guess I'm missing something then. I have over 10 fairies and flashers now not including the other 20 or so over the years and I have never seen any coccon or resemblance of one.
You're not looking hard enough. :p In fairness, they're pretty transparent and not always easy to distinguish at night.

STILL NO PICS!?!?!?!
I could take a picture of the piece of PVC he's hiding behind...

Do as I say and not as I do in this department, but always QT.
I'm QT'ing this fish, but that's only because NYA isn't a source I have not purchased from (ie - I don't know what their standard protocols are).

Same here; photos are not feasible yet.

And I'm also of the feeling cooper can be quite hard on wrasses. Prazi is always a good idea however.

My QT is a 10g tank with a few pieces of PVC, a HOB filter, and a tight fitting lid. Very simple.

Mine is being very shy too. He is eating but seldom comes out of the pvc to swim around. Still showing some of the stress from the shipping I think. He's had a harder time than any other flasher I've had.

You're thinking of one that was lost from the previous batch from NYA. I think all from this batch are still alive that we know of.

I have a Rhomboid in my QT with copper at 0.3
he has been in there for two days. Should i add prazipro to the cupramine?
Or should i do a water change and just use prazipro for the rhomboid?

Yes I lost mine during the last batch. My replacement comes tomorrow. Fingers crossed

What happened? Mine looked pretty rough in the shipping bag this morning. Did about a 45 minute acclimation and put him in the qt tank by himself with lots of PVC and a few pieces of rock. Keeping my fingers crossed but the fish was laying on its side with labored breathing and was pretty small at about 2.5 inches.

Mine still lays over on its side sometimes and stays on the bottom or in the PVC 98% of the time. Kinda curled up too. He does eat and occasionally comes out for a very short swim. Got him Saturday so that's three days. Hopeful he'll make it.
