I've been following this maroon clown design for 2 years.. finally saw them on sale on Ebay.. for a whooping $8900... ridiculous. I'll wait 5 years until price drops to mate my lightning maroon..

you can find them on ebay by searching peacekeeper maroon, I don't think I can post ebay links..

lol.. I want to use the words "mean" looking? maroons look cool when they look bold and aggressive.. but hideous does it too.

the original pair looks a little better

 Fish with deformed mouth for 9k?
The thing is that Maroons fight as babies, so a lot of "deformities" are just injuries before they're fully grown in.
Plus exclusivity, the Lykan Hyoersport (3 million dollar car) is ugly and not very good, but because it's so rare it can be sold for a lot more than it's true worth.

:headwalls:

By that logic a zig-zag spine makes them even more valuable :debi:

LOL I saw this today and almost posted it. From reading about them it seems there are suckers out there that will buy it.

Yes you can post Ebay links on here. There are also two video's of that fish. Poor thing can hardly swim.

Underbite and overbite are not results of fighting. Most likely it is due to nutritional deficiencies of the fry. Personally I did not witness maroon fry to fight more than any other clowns.

Moreover, I am pretty certain the one in the pic never fought with anybody. I just dont see typical damages that juvies can inflict upon each other.

Hey now I thought this fish was suppose to bring peace hence the name PeaceKeeper... It's pretty in the eye of the beholder.

Some of the earlier ones were pretty legit
Now it just seems like every thing with an ugly missbar counts as a "designer" strain...

That and water quality.

I did! It may depend on which maroon species/local variety you deal with.
The ones I had before started fighting like crazy shortly after they settled down.

What do you mean by "settled down"?

I am talking about hundreds of fry from the same nest together.

After metamorphosis, when they changed form larva to juvenile.

Maybe they won't fight too much if you keep the density high enough so that they can't really pick a foe. I had had mine in a big tank, hoping for faster growth and until I found out that these little bastards kill each other I was down to only a handful.

I cant see that fish as being the most sought after though like they say. I understand that it is rare and one of a kind but there are tons of clowns that are one of a kind. I am not big into designer clowns but there are plenty more ouy there i would take over this one. Heck the gold nugget looks better to me.

If I would be in the market of spending a small fortune on clownfish I would rather spend it on nice wild pairs of latezonatus, chrysogaster or latifasciatus. Even a nice wild onyx percula would be worth more to me than any designer clown.

I agree completly. I even saw they had a pair of the longfin clowns for sale:facepalm:

But if you have a small fourtune try for a pair of A. Fuscocaudatus. :D
