Perry's 120 Gallon Reef

Looks great, Perry. You've had some good growth since August.

You really have!! That Hawkins is getting to be big! Your tank has gone through quite the evolution the past couple of months... comparison photos:

I'm sure you've noticed, but just wanted everyone else to. :) Really looking awesome!

Looking awesome Perry!! Love the new scape, much more natural looking

My acid trip didn't do a single thing until this week I noticed 4 new heads popping out of the frag so I'm hoping to see some growth coming.

I've had a hard time finding any lineage of the acid trip. Where it came from or large colonies of it other than one or two pics online and it looked a lot like a sunset. Have you found anything?

Charles,
I have also looked, but have yet to find a decent colony pic, it seems there are variations of colors based on the pics I have seen, mine looks nothing like my sunset, way more orange. I am looking forward to seeing the difference in our colors, Cindy and I may have to come see your tank, she liked your fiance and had fun chatting with her, a bonus for the ole reefer boys. Make sure that keg is full man, look forward to seeing your beer setup too :) Anyway, growth and color took off after I snipped those frags for you, the colonies are bigger, go figure, lol...

I am very interested to see that fire truck Acro in other people's tanks. I wonder if it will hold that colour.
I wish it could be in my tank!
I must have missed it.. What is the acid trip?
I think I'd like to take an acid trip on that fire truck! :)

Sorry! I posted this in the wrong thread... D'oh!:fun5:
No... Even worse.. I think I must have already been on an acid trip... I've mixed up two threads..

Still curious about what the acid trip is.... I think.. Pretty sure.. :)

Matt, I snipped a bunch of corals for Charles(Cham) awhile back, and since the growth has taken off. I opened the top tier of the middle part of the reef, during the re-scape, trying to get all non sps down below on the sand, where they belong, I was sort of delaying on this, glad things are heading in the right direction. Your colors are looking pretty amazing bro!!!

haha well after posting the first set of decent pics of the firetruck I was absolutely bombarded with messages and pm's asking about frags and where it came from and who has it lol even some stores did too! Needless to say people I've never heard from before won't be getting much action in terms of firetruck loving :crazy1: Andrew's and Ryan's frags are growing nicely but have taken a much more orange and green colour due to the size, I'm thinking that once the frags (like 5mm long, they were tips that had been broken by snails and I'm not wasting any firetruck haha) mature a little more they'll develop some better red colours :) We'll see what happens!

You're always welcome here mate, if you're ever come to Aus and Melbourne and don't tell me there will be lots of trouble! :uzi: smuggling some firetruck back would be worth the punishment if caught though :D All is good in my end of the world mate, busy with uni exams but not busy enough to check the forums haha hopefully he same goes for you now that the fish have settled and are on the mend :)

And this is why I love your tank, the colours and growth blow me away every time mate!!! :eek1:

Thanks Mate! Yeah I am sure that dang firetruck has caused you a lot of annoying requests, but, it's also nice to hold the goods, glad to see you not chopping that beauty up just to score a few bucks, if you frag, frag for your mates, that creates a backup, you also don't let it fall into the hands of someone with bad intentions. That is why I am glad that Charles has the Acid Trip too, he also had frags/mini-colonies of most of my colonies. Anyway, likewise, if you are ever here in Florida checking out the Big Goofy Mouse in Orlando, you need to pop over for a brew!!! Hope all is well your way bro!

Thank you for the kind words, and quite honestly, until you posted the comparision pic, I did not notice the growth, so thank you very much for that, lol...

Probably because of your unfortunate fish losses, hang in there though! Your tank is taking off so you should be proud, keep it up.

Awesome, Michelle said the same thing. She said we have to have you guys over for a cook out and some beers. It's nice to finally be able to take the woman somewhere to talk about reef stuff and not have her nagging me to get out of there. She asked to come with me and I was hoping she wouldn't go, when I'm reef geeking out she usually gets bored.

Psssh, that kegerator is ALWAYS full. Two things in this house that don't get neglected. Reef tank and kegerator. Both keep my sanity :D

I put mine high up in high flow. Granted my tank isn't settled in yet so my colors are weird.

Oh, and it's "wife" now. We hitched up a couple weeks ago :)

Matt, a recent pic of the RMF Acid Trip Milli, acquired locally from a fellow hobbyist in Orlando area, luckily myself and a few others scored some fresh cuts of it. Pretty cool milli, IMO...

Thanks Josh, the fish losses and the fact that I am balancing my time with other hobbies these days. I appreciate the kind words, I plan on upping my fish count in the future, probably going to wait until after the new year.

Charles, I posted a pic for Matt, will be interesting to see the differences, we both run t5's, and mine is lower in the tank with medium flow. I am seeing more of that electric orange hue in the mid part of the base, really stoked on this one... Congrats on the marriage Charles, that is awesome, make sure and tell Michelle hello from our family! Looking forward to that cold beer bro!

Great fts perry buddy:thumbsup:
Love your colors man and awesome growth rate!

Mike, thank you my friend, I appreciate the kind words, I guess sometimes it is easy to just plug along in life, days go by too quickly, week's just as fast, but how are we already in late October? SMH.... Now I know why the corals look like they have grown, time is flying by, and such is the growth of our precious reef's... Best to you buddy!

Nice Perry! Ok. I got it now.. Got mixed up with Dom's comments. I though I was on his thread..
The green polyps and red corralites will be stunning when it really takes off.

ok, I DO NOT have a fetish for that hawkins.... but I DO want to jump right into it and snuggle around like a clownfish in an anemone..
I'm not the only one, right??
I'm not weird, right?

right?

Damn Perry, I step away for a few days and you photobomb us with colors. Everything is looking terrific, and the colors are just awesome.

Very nice  Not sure if I'd want to snuggle with acro, but a good stare on would certainly be in order

Matt, I think the Acid Trip may have effected you, lol... Thanks for the kind words man!

Thanks Mark, I guess things are going pretty well with colors, so I thought it would be nice to share a few colony pics :)

Everything is looking beautiful! Excellent colors. That acid trip frag is gonna be a show stopper!

I agree man, I am patiently awaiting for this one to take off, it is almost encrusted completely, hopefully soon I will get some new branches...

You are not the only one

Thanks, that was a top down of the Hawkins, I wanted to show the color of it from a different angle, thanks!!!

Very nice  Not sure if I'd want to snuggle with acro, but a good stare on would certainly be in order

LOL.... Thanks for the kind words :)

:furious:You are a sick man perry:p
That nest is...:inlove:

Mike, that nest was almost trashed, it sort of made a comeback, and is now showing signs of brilliance, thanks pal!!!

Definitely a few lol but so far it's only gone to friends and Biggles is yet to get his bit to work his magic on! I'd love to see how it goes in his tank :eek2: That acid trip though, probably one of the coolest acro's I've seen! Have you seen any good pics of the colony?? Would love to see what it's like as a colony :D
I'm sure I'll take you up on that when I get the chance to visit State-side! I'd love to do it while MACNA is on because we have nothing like that!

I would almost give you the Firetruck for pieces of these :inlove: Hawkins is No. 1 on the list of things I'll never have in Australia :(

Perry, thought I'd give you an update on my acid trip. I can only take pics with my iPhone and don't have any edit software on my phone but this is pretty spot on since I did it with my mid day lights on. If I do it with just the blue plus bulbs and leds it gets all washed out.
