Nice color up on that rescue and that Hawkins makes me all warm and fuzzy inside!!
Glad the melt down wasn't too damaging.

I just love your Red Robin. It is so red. So is the Rommel's Watermelon. Do you have them in a very high PAR region?
I have got rid of my Leather during my revamp of the tank 3 months ago. But then, I never know it is not good to be in the same tank with SPS. Could you tell us why it is not good? I also got rid of most of my softies.

That Hawkins is so nice. Mine is just a little drag.. Only had it a few weeks. That's still a few weeks longer than the first time I tried one. I hope mine can grow to be like yours. Great job. Where do you have it placed in tank?

:inlove::inlove::inlove::inlove:

That's all I have to say lol colours are outstanding and the growth looks like it's kicking along too :) I have to say the acid trip is still my favourite! I'll swap you for some Firetruck :lol2: keep the pics rolling mate!

Thanks Matt, as I recall, you have a very sweet spot for the Hawkins, lol... Hope all is going well your way bro!

Thanks westreef!!!
Red Robin gets a ton of light, as mentioned earlier when discussing with Mark, I find it gets more green as the par lowers, and more red less green as it gets more light. My sweet spot for this coral is the white polyps, just makes me all fuzzy inside, lol... As far a leathers go, I believe they release toxins. As mine melted, the strands of dying coral were picked up and blown around, seems as those the sticks that it got caught on suffered most. I should have changed carbon, it may have helped, owell, all is back to normal at the moment.

Jeez, that is a beauty Hawkins colony! Nice work :)

Thanks jroovers, I have always admired your 120 and Ricky's too, thanks for dropping by and showing some love for the Hawkins, can't wait to see your next project take off, smaller, but fun nonetheless I hope :)

Thanks Michale, I guess we sometimes are lucky with certain corals, this colony just keeps getting better looking. I keep this one mid/high level. I find that the higher lighting allows some pinkish hues to come out on the tips when really happy, you have to really look though, as it is not a pronounced color, otherwise it sort of has that teal blue glow.

Dom, I so wish you lived in the states, or rather I lived in Australia, that actually works better, so do you have a spare room mate? Lol, hopefully you live near the coast, I like to surf mate :) Just kidding man, but it would be nice to share some of our cool corals, like you and Andrew do, I would be all over that Firetruck, I would be hassling you mate, but that Acid Trip is going to be delightful too, it just wants to grow at a snails pace. Your tank is looking great Dom, keep it up mate!!!

That RR still haunts my dreams perry:wavehand:
Love the rest of the pics too!

Those "smurf sized" frags will look so nice when they'll be huge!
Can't wait for them to grow!

I'm sure we can sneak you in somewhere, Andrew has a lot of room under his tank  I'm not near the beach but it's easy enough to get to and some good surfing spots around the beaches.
I can't wait to see the acid trip go into colony mode lol I'm waiting for the firetruck to do the same lol I think it's settled again so it should hopefully start to bump the growth rate up again :) It's always awesome to have some friends nearby to share the hobby with!

Thanks Mike, I will have to detail more info on the RR and Green Slimer's relationship sometime, as they have been growing at the base and branches into one another, without warfare. The effect is similair to when a stag breaches the water. At the base they are sort of growing around each other no slimming, but as a tip hits a branch or vice versa, they sort of flatten and the slimer slimes, go figure :) Anyway, I have though of breaking them up, but they are both stags, so I am going to cross my fingers and let it continue, this has been going for a year plus now, no issues... Thanks for checking in, hope all is well your way my friend :)

Dom,
Too funny man, lol!!! That firetruck is why you and Andrew are in hiding lately, I think you guys are laying low as to not attract any attention, I would do the same, in all my years of reefing, I have never seen anything like it!!! I need to check on airfare, don't be surprised when I am knocking on your door with my insulated climate control cooler bag, and a belt full of fragging tools, not to mention the ziplocks Mate!!! Anyway, the Acip Trip is growing painfully slow, but you know, millis don't take off until fully encrusted, I give it 6 months or so... Hope all is well your way Dom!

Update:
All fish losses have stabilized at this point, and for over a month now, I have converted back to running chaeto in center chamber of sump, it has quadrupled in size, so I know it is getting plenty of nutrients. I am down to only 5 fish now, and the cyano outbreak that started when I lost fish is naturally subsiding, so I will stay the course. I am still using zeostart and bacteria, but in VERY small portions.

I have also rescaped to put the corals in proper locations with proper spacing for continued growth, even though I am sort of sad lately about my fish, I must say the corals are looking amazing, so hopefully I will get some pics up soon...

Looking awesome Perry!! Love the new scape, much more natural looking

My acid trip didn't do a single thing until this week I noticed 4 new heads popping out of the frag so I'm hoping to see some growth coming.

I've had a hard time finding any lineage of the acid trip. Where it came from or large colonies of it other than one or two pics online and it looked a lot like a sunset. Have you found anything?

haha well after posting the first set of decent pics of the firetruck I was absolutely bombarded with messages and pm's asking about frags and where it came from and who has it lol even some stores did too! Needless to say people I've never heard from before won't be getting much action in terms of firetruck loving :crazy1: Andrew's and Ryan's frags are growing nicely but have taken a much more orange and green colour due to the size, I'm thinking that once the frags (like 5mm long, they were tips that had been broken by snails and I'm not wasting any firetruck haha) mature a little more they'll develop some better red colours :) We'll see what happens!

You're always welcome here mate, if you're ever come to Aus and Melbourne and don't tell me there will be lots of trouble! :uzi: smuggling some firetruck back would be worth the punishment if caught though :D All is good in my end of the world mate, busy with uni exams but not busy enough to check the forums haha hopefully he same goes for you now that the fish have settled and are on the mend :)

Matt, Updated FTS :)

And this is why I love your tank, the colours and growth blow me away every time mate!!! :eek1:

I am very interested to see that fire truck Acro in other people's tanks. I wonder if it will hold that colour.
I wish it could be in my tank!
I must have missed it.. What is the acid trip?
I think I'd like to take an acid trip on that fire truck! :)
