Perry's 120 Gallon Reef

:) figured as much.. Sorry, I didn't read the fine print.. Just wanted to keep Perry in the loop..

No worries at all! I was getting so many locals questioning the program at the shop and via PM, I figured I would start a thread. Perry thankfully documented much of the progression which really helps others see what can be expected.

Can I pretty please swap you some firetruck for this :inlove:

Acid trip? Yeah? It's an absolutely stunning piece Perry that goes really nicely with your absolutely stunning tank mate! How are the anthias going? :)

Dom, If you were in the US that deal would have been done by now :) I appreciate the kindness, the tank is looking good right now, but that coral is certainly taking off color wise, hopefully I can get it to grow! The antias are all hanging in there, I still have 3 lyretails and 3 bimacs. They are all eating like pigs... One of the female lyretails is changing sex right now, kind of cool to see that transition.

I have to agree this is looking extra sweet!
Everything else is looking good but this specific Millie is stunning .

Thanks Arlin, the color on this coral is so random, that is why it is one of my favorites, it seems there is no definitive color pattern, really a vibrant coral when happy.

Tank and corals look great :)

BTW, Love your signature quote!

Thank You,
I am assuming the Budda quote :) If so, I try and live my life by this philosophy, especially when situations are beyond my control :)

I like Perry's signature too. I would add the following to it: "Either do it right or don't do it at all".

Thanks Bulent, I think you are referring to Arlin's quote, but a good rule of thumb indeed, I would even upgrade to your version :) Hope all is well Mate!

LOL...
I appreciate your love man, I got your back too bud! But, no need here, I am stoked that others feel that my tank is of any inspiration whatsoever. The fact that my thread is discussed or pics are used is an honor. Hopefully it will help others, I too like tweaked am messaged often, I have no issues with that though :)

Thanks Pat,
I have no concern with plug in, I am honored you feel my tank is worthy of discussion and a template for others future success. At the end of the day, we are all in this for the same reason, I care about the success of the reef animals, not my ego ;)

Nice progress Perry, I have been crazy busy and just got a chance to catch up on your thread a bit.

My acid trip has done the opposite as yours as far as growth. It hasn't grown a single inch longer but has sprouted 10 branches off the original frag that are 1/4" or bigger now. The colors are insane, definitely my favorite in my tank right now. As I understand the original colony was lost so we have to save this one and bring it back to the reefing community.

Insane Perry!!!! Wow. Your the one to blame is my quest to find a Acid trip down here now lol. Its seriously mouth watering. BTW , how do you take pics without seing the t5 bulbs? Its kinda hard to take top down for me now. Or are you using an underwater cam ?:bounce3:

All good! I'm glad you guys are working together! :)

Hey Matt,
Good thing about the SPS board is that we all seem to work together well, we have our differences, but all share the same quest to create the best conditions for our reefs to be as vibrant and healthy as possible. You are a prime example of "paying it forward" my friend. I have seen you extend yourself countless times on this forum alone, that which to help a fellow reefer, that is truly what the hobby is all about, I am glad you and so many others around here get it :)

Charles, the LFS I work at got Michaels colony, it was looking rough last week, hoping it pulls through. Despite that and a few locals around Orlando, it is not a common coral by any means, likely due to the fact of it's slow growth, probably irritates those looking to make a quick buck, lol.... Good to see you buddy, hoping we can eventually get together and have a couple coldies :)

Jorge,
I will PM you when frags are available, this is a must have in a sps dominant tank, I love the Acid Trip, would love to see it in your setup buddy! The pics are taken with a home manufactured top down viewer. The viewer is larger than normal, so I don't see those reflections as much. I also use the auto focus feature on Cannon EOS Rebel T1i. I raise the lights so I can get up in there, lol...

Interesting. I thought I heard it had been lost. Glad to hear it's alive, it's a great coral.

Anytime you guys want to hook up and have some cold ones we are in!!!

Source where you got it was Michael in Sanford originally, but I agree 100% from what I have heard RMF lost the mother. I actually have a second frag, you can see it in the pic, hoping they encrust together, maybe then it will look like it is growing, lol....

When things ease up around you, we are totally ready to have a kidless weekend and hook up with you and Michelle!

It's definitely taking off! That would be so cool getting to witness the sex change of the anthias! :) I will hopefully do the same sort of thing with all females just so I can watch one change!
