So far so good, nothing has reacted poorly. In fact, the tank is running cooler now, the sunpower does not put out nearly as much heat. Keep in mind my fans were out on previous unit. My father is stopping in with the Nikon and macro lense this am, he is the photographer, so I am hoping to get some quality pics over a nice cup of organic french press

Nice, Perry! That's some serious light!
I tried a similar combo of blue plus, coral plus and abs but found it a bit too white/pink..
I changed out the abs for giesemann lagoon blue and was much happier..
However, with the led strips to supplement your combo, it sounds really nice.
Looking forward to some new pics!

When you say serious light, no joke there man, the light is SO bright, but the leds calm things down and add a beautiful touch of blue shimmer. I have one strip on the back and one on the front. The sunpower sits in between. I now have a powermodule and tek unit as back ups. Hoping to move them locally, my girlfriend is getting ****ed at all my reef stuff lying around, frag tank 1/2 broken down, wires everywhere, and to top if off, I have siatic acting up this week, so not getting anything done. I better get busy or this will be my head...:hammer:

My fixture sits just shy of a foot 10-11"

Top downs much easier to accomplish with a suspended light unit versus a hood I think I have found a happy place, but as we all know, this can change, seeing way too many threads of our fellow reefer buds having issues, it is sad indeed to hear. Makes me wonder if seasonal changes play an impact through the DNA of our corals, seems like the case with certain algaes, unexplained tissue necrosis, and corals simply dying with no reason. For whatever reason, it seems to come as seasons shift. Perhaps a die off creates an imbalance or chain reaction within our tanks? I have nothing scientific to offer, simply speculation at this point
