Perry's 120 Gallon Reef

That's a groovy list Perry :)

Thanks Mate!

nice Buddy!
Royal Gramma are the best!

congrats on the new additions buddy!

Cheers

Beautiful Picture Flo!

That's a nice fish gang perry:beer:
No fights or aggressiveness huh?

Ok, not so much, I have the feeling my melanarus wrasse chased my new coris wrasse out of the tank, as it is missing today, I still have yet to check the filter sock, but I am thinking the yellow coris wrasse is a loss at this point. All others doing well :)

^ I would be worried about that Hogfish, interested as well.

Hogfish, avid jumper, found his way into the overflow, and it is impossible to get him out at this point, owell, looks like his home for now, lol... The melanarus wrasse chased the yellow coris out of the tank, so looks as though I will have to chill on the wrasses for awhile, maybe head in the anthias direction to bump BFC. Cheers Josh!

I use AF Demineralization Resin, it is very high quality and capacity.
Perry, I was just at AquaFX and picked up all new filters and membrane. I even went with the chloramine carbon blocks instead of regular carbon blocks. I wanted to ask about the AF Demineralization Resin, is this their brand of DI? Or is the AF Demineralization Resin to be used in addition to DI?

Ed,
It is DI resin, brings tds reading of 8-11ppm out of RO, down to 0.00. I have not changed the DI in quite some time, it is very high quality, must check tds as it is not color activated :)

Looking really nice Perry.

Thanks Mark, hope all is well with your build, last I checked it seemed closer to getting wet, I love the stand, you did a tremendous job! Cheers!

So are any of the Cali reefers out there going to MACNA in San Diego, if yes, I would love to meet you, I may possibly be attending with AF. More to come on that soon!
Cheers :)

Some decent pics taken this am, have worked on coral placement to even out the reef, the left side is taking off, certain corals, like acid trip, have visual signs of branching, very cool to see the growth coming along... Regards,

Latest pics are scrummy looking Perry, you have wonderful colors AND growth lol - bastard......

It's friday night here so the weekend has started mate - time for you know what pics.........;)

Perry, can you tell us more about the conditions you are taking photos under? What bulbs are you running? Any LED supplementation? Are you dimming anything for photos?

Lol,, I actually turn my led supplement off for photos, as I believe they saturate light blues and teal blue too much. I take photos in RAW with Cannon DSLR TSi1 and process with an old version of Picassa, so that I can auto color, and auto contrast, I sometimes darken photos to give real perspective, but no photshop here man... My bulbs are t5's, 4 ATI B+, 2 ATI Coral +, and 2 ATI Aqua ble Special. If you read my journal, you will see many have stopped over for a beer, coffee, water, or some fresh cut goodies, and all seem to think my pics do no justice. I totally wish I could record a video, lol... Thanks!

Wasn't questioning the accuracy of your photos at all. They are stunning. I just love the contrast from the aquascape and coral to the background. I might try turning my LEDs off for photos.

Interesting bulb choice as well! I've never tried ABS, but I do have a geisseman azure bulb which i think is the same idea. I just subbed in a KZ Coral Light 10K for a Coral + and am loving the results!

I'm soooooo inlove with the colors you get my dear friend:beer:
Wish i could stop over for some water too:cool::cool::cool:

I've the same bulb combo now, just one C+ less and one more B+,in it's place.
Looks nice and bright.

looking great Buddy!

love those colors!

have to take some pics myself on the weekend if i find the time ^^

Cheers

Thanks Flo!
I will keep an eye out for some lovely pics my friend!

You lucky dog!!!

Thanks Ed, I am hopeful for a great opportunity :)

Wish I was having a leisure weekend mate, pretty hectic with the job, working overtime, so have been on the recluse, but will catch up and charge up the camera, I still need a lazy foot crossed pic with the tank, will be coming soon, lol... Cheers!

I love KZ bulbs, and will likely go back to them next round, and yes, the setup is on the white side, but 2 reefbrite led strips balance it out. No worries, I was just thinking that my pics to me never get the colors you see in person, but by no means offended, I appreciate your stopping and and love any and all dialogue... Cheers!

Great tank Perry! I'm going to be ordering the same one. What did you get yours for if you don't mind me asking.

I bought this setup as a turnkey system years back, I think it is a marineland standard 120 gallon, single corner overflow. They are built pretty well, I am happy so far! Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it :)

I wish you were close by too my friend, the water would be salt water with some goodies in the bags :) Thank you my friend :)

Last two have some monster growth Perry good work!

Thanks Tim, two ORA corals that still are some of my favorites, even as common as they are, the Hawkins is getting to be huge, lol... Cheers Man!
