Sorry to hear about the scratches. Super sucks...so you ordered another mp10? How are you liking them so far? Also, what salt are you using now?

yeah, ordered another mp10. i like it, but dont like it humming and higher speeds...gets quite annoying when i'm trying to sleep. i forget what mode i have it on, but its the yellow colored light. the other modes, except for constant, makes the humming noise very annoying because of the changing speeds. other than that, its nicer to have in a small tank instead of the bulkier k3's i had.

I'm using aquavitro right now. I havent tested cal/alk/mag yet to see what difference it makes. hopefully on my next water change, i can get to testing the water.

sometime today I'll be messing around with marco rubble rock and epoxy to add more space to mount my sps. maybe i can get some quick pics of it up later tonight. we'll see tho how the timing goes today.

Hey Phi, what mode do you have your mp10s set at and what percent? Also, how are the cardinal fish with the flow in your tank?
 
I have it on one of the pulse modes while I'm away from the apartment. I forget the exact mode. At night, i switch modes, its the yellow light mode lol.

Cardinals are active, and they usually chill out in the front of the tank. They don't seem to mind the flow.
 
Ok, update...

My friend John broke down his tank, so I have his swc 120 cone skimmer and mp40 gen2.
I installed both yesterday and so far I like it. Having the mp40 has made my tank a little bit quieter which is why I switched out one of my mp10s for it.

I've also come to the realization that I can't keep all the sps that I have after mounting some of the sps that I was holding for John. I'm hoping some time this week to clear up some space for my sps to grow out, so I'll have some of my sps for sale soon...

I don't test often enough to notice a difference...
But I did test last night after a water change. After waiting about 10 hours for the water to mix thoroughly in the tank, my params were...
cal - 420
alk - 7
mag - 1280

alk and mag are low. My previous test about 2 weeks prior were...
cal - 500
alk - 7.8
mag - 1350

During those 2 weeks, I manually dosed a few times and I just do guesswork when I dose. I really need to invest in a doser, but don't want to spend $300 on one quite yet...
I didn't dose cal during those 2 weeks, dosed alk about 2 times, and mag just once. I will test again tonight to see what the readings are after I dosed last night.
 
Bought a new fish today...psychedelic mandarin from pet's choice (thanks ryan for correcting me). Been thinking about buying him all week, and luckily they still had them today. Thanks Ryan for the heads up. This guy looks awesome.
