Snowcasso is excessive white and was a name made up by the breeder Doni Marie. Only problem is many people like yourself do no know the difference so on her site snowcasso and every other grading is what she says it is. So if you have no idea you go their and pay the ridiculous price for something that many people cannot notice. For whatever reason ORA does not release the ridiculous looking picassos to the public and that gives room for doni to market them like crazy. If you think the fish is worth you money go for it but rather support a company who breaks barriers in breeding such as with the mandarins like ORA.

Wild caught Picasso clwon fish video.
I am wondering if those ORA breeding pairs were wild caught or not.

That is a VERY beautiful pair. I seriously doubt they are wild though. The original ORA breeding pair was a captive bred regular onyx and a very rare wild caught male with the "Picasso" markings. The female in the video is both very melanistic (like an onyx) and has the abnormal or "Picasso" type markings. To find such a fish in the wild would be like hitting the lottery. Then to find the male with Picasso markings that ends up at the same store at the same time, would be like hitting the lottery then getting struck by lightning on your way to collect your money. I guess any thing's possible, but the odds are soooo stacked against it that I must think someone along the line fibbed about the origin of these fish. Regardless, it's still a very nice pair.

I would have to disagree they look wild caught. If anything they would have to be found together i would assume that the picasso gene would have to be most likely where the same fish was found. Blue zoo has been having WC Picasso clownfish. It could be melanstic due to a variety of reasons the host anemone could have had a major role. The fish do not look ORA, they are not stubby at all like most breeders fish.

As we all know the Picasso trait is possible in the wild but rare, and to find a pair would be even tougher to find. to find it in a LFS would almost impossible. That pair is gorgeous, but i think they are tank raised, because of the dullness of the orange. This is just my opinion.

The dullness of orange can easily be changed depending on the diet they are fed. The female deff looks wildcaught to me, the male, im not so sure.

I'll agree that the perfect body structure makes them look wild caught. It's just that the odds of finding a wild caught pair like that is so astronomically overwhelming that I have to have my doubts. We do get lucky with captive breeding and produce fish like that from time to time.

Astronomically overwhelming i don't really think so very slim yes, anyone who picked up that pair probably had to pay some serious cash. They where from bali so for them to even reach a US supplier before anyone else means alot. With all the insane amounts of fish that are collected from that area and the amount of reported picassos from that area i would say that it is very possible.

Two quick questions.
1. How were you able to track these two fish back to Bali?
2. Can you post something showing that A. percula live in the waters off Bali?

im planning to set them up in their own 20 gal, im not having any coral in there so wat kinda lighting do they need?
