Picasso / Rodonyx FIRST BATCH OF EMBRYOS

Wow...not one loss? That's amazing.

My little male has pretty deformed gill plates. I was only planning on getting the female, but they already showed signs of pairing and I couldn't bring myself to split them up...I'm hoping that if I can get them through this infection junk it'll become less obvious as he grows, or at the very least that it won't become a problem.

Beautiful development. About how long are the larger ones in the photo with the black developing between the first 2 stripes? Difficult to judge size by the closeup photo.

I clicked over to your "red house" tonight and have been looking through the entire thread for last hour. You have so much more new photos as of today than just the one above. Anyone want to see a few more photos on how these babies are doing, just click on the "red house".

audrey its alot alot of work to be honest. alot more than i anticipated. for atleast a week after they spawn you cant even go away for a weekend. daily feedings and water changes are critical for there survival and good dev.

if these babies do not dev. into good quality clowns. i will not continue to grow them out. its just too much work. i hope to have many pairs in this upcoming year, but will only hatch ones that produce good babies.

by the way where did you get your clowns? you got them from Rod's right? did they just pair up right when you got them?

Your clowns look awesome!!!!! Im very glad to hear you are being very selective on your babies. It shows you care alot about keeping clownfish bloodlines good, and not letting weak or deformed clowns out just because... So many captive bred fish get weak because breeders, and farmers breed their fish to death and sell every fry they can! That inbreds the fish, inturn making them weaker. I cant wait to see what your clowns look like when they get older!! There are gonna be some really cool patterns in there for sure!!

Very nice babies! Keep up the great work!

I'm sure most will turn black. Plus, they're just too cute and cool at this point.

Best,
Ilham

sorry guys, not significant updates. i definetly have a bunch of onyx but nothing with crazy patterns as i can tell so far. its still to early i think. based on what other breeders say, it can take a long time for stripping to occur.

i have several i see with interesting patterns but there still dev. not sure where the patterns will stop yet.

im only going to give clowns to others with definitive dev. not ones with the potential to dev.

WOW! embryo I have read every single comment on this thread and ive been reading the whole thing from front to end, you have done a great! job and because of you I will deff try to breed my false percs just to see if I can and take on the challenge! This thread is amazing and I wish you the best of LUCK! everything looks great

Great pictures and updates...I should have checked here before I checked in with you via PM, sorry. I'll track their development through this thread and your website. Super sweet setup and gret attention to detail. The babies show all the hard work you have put into this. I amsure they will develop into some very sweet color patterns.
