That could be right. I saw some at MACNA last fall, but didn't look at the all that closely.

There is a 5 gallon bucket for effluent ehich shuts off the entire system in case of an overflow.

Just realized my skimmer photo was with saltwater .....just not broke in....had to check my own thread before I remembered I mixed saltwater.......

click my red house to see my 120g thread.
 
Well if you guys like big skimmers, heres a shot of one of our commerical installations. Its a RK2 150 run with a 4hp supply pump and a 1hp reculation venturi pump. For a size reference, the little lady in the 2nd pic is 5'2" and the drain line with the gate valve is a 6" diameter. I'll have to get a shot of the effluent at some point. The aquarium size is a 13k gallon FO exhibit.

Gwalker- That totally blows away all the other skimmers posted.

Here is my PM Bullet-2 with my 1st sump setup under my 120. Its different now, tossed the 15g sump and got a acrylic 45g sump so its much much different now.
