I will rehome the tang when its gets big enough (as stated in the previous post). The sixline has shown no aggression. But for the sake of moving forward. Say i get rid of those two fish, what then would be recommended?

As I said before, I do not provide recommendations. I would be happy to provide compatibility analysis if you provide a stocking list.

These would work, but the sixline will limit choices going forward due to its aggressive nature.
Bother you one more time. With the choices of sixline, blenny and dwarf angel, can I add one maroon clown as my final fish to the list? If not possible, can I substitute the dwarf angel with maroon clown? thanks again

No bother at all. Maroon clowns are incredibly aggressive, especially in smaller tanks. I would definitely not do that one.

Good Afternoon!
I am not 100% sure what I will be adding to this tank, so I am more or less looking for suggestions, but here's a rough idea.

What I Have...
My Tank: 65-Gal Marineland W/ Corner-Flo (OverFlow)
My Filter: 100-Gal Wet/Dry W/ Sponge & Hose (Plus Plumbing)
My Pump: R/O 2500 Pump (Glass Cover For All)
My Light: LED Strip (150 Watt)
My Accessories: 60Lbs Live Sand, Heater & Adorable Background <3
My Fish: Green Spotted Pufferfish (Full Marine)

What I Would Like To Add...
Another Green Spotted Pufferfish, Two Ocellaris Clownfish, Blue Tang/Yellow Tang, Queen Angelfish, Anemone, Coral

What do you think... any suggestions? Substitutions? Thanks in advance!

Im fairly new to the SW world have had FW tanks for as far back as I can remember. A neighbor of mines being deployed and gave me his just cycled 125 g tank with a 50 gal sump. 60lbs sand and 50lbs lr.
I have:
2x koralia evo 1400
1 eheim classic 2217
still confused on exactly what lighting to get

But I want these fish (ive done a little research)
B&W Perc Pair (still havent figured out which anemone yet since the carpet stings)
heniochus butterflyfish-1
Panda Clown Gobies-2
Neon Gobies-2 (a pair of either one or the other)
Kole Yellow Eye (maybe a little later?)
Bristletooth Tang(or this one one or the other)
Pink Streaked Wrasse (just one)

Not wanting to add all at once just a couple here and there. Also looking to add a nice cleaner pack for everything but want snails only not looking for any crabs or shrimp that could damage my fish.
All help is much appreciated

Lauren, your wish list is not compatible with your tank size. No tangs are really suitable, no large angels either. And a pufferfish are aggressive and not all that easy for a new to the hobby. I suggest reading the marine fish listings on Dr. Foster and Smith for research.

Your tank is of sufficient size for all EXCEPT the Heniochus (can get huge) mentioned, however I don't recommend the panda gobies if you plan to add corals at some point.
Kole Tangs are not on the aggressive side and good grazers. You could successfully house it with another Ctenochaetus eg: Tominiensis, but at your own risk.
Also the reef cleaner packs won't contain any shrimp that would harm your fish. Check out our list of sponsors for clean up crew packages.

Thanks for the info... I actually work at one of the places i think still sponsors this site Im just pretty new to the game and wanted to get a little more insight. Ive been researching quite a bit thought a heniochus had a min tank req of 120 so I thought he might be okay in there but didnt have my heart set.

Wasnt looking for two tangs dont want to throw money away just whether or not I could house one or the other safely.

Panda gobies harm coral? Didnt read that saw they were okay with caution for softies but figured something hardier might be able to withstand it... hmmmm having to rethink that one...

Thanks for all the great info:thumbsup::wavehand::strooper:

Still looking for the 4th fish in my 28 nano cube led intermediate. The tank has a canopy and a very secure top, so no trouble about jumping.

I have 2 occelaris clownfish ( 1 1/2 and 1 inches respectively), a blue chromis (2 inches)

I am thinking adding my last fish which is a six-line wrasse. I am going to get the smallest possible. Would they be all compatible? I want this fish because aside from it's pretty colors, I also have some free swimming hydroids and I heard they do prey on them.

I am no intentions of adding anymore fish so you think it will be fine in a long run when everybody would be of the same size? I heard mixed stories of them being aggressive when they get bigger.

thanks in advance

I'll like to get some info on this fish that i would like to add to my tank. Its the Swales Swissguard Basslet, or Pacific Candy Basslet. I have a 220+gal reef thats running efficiently over a year now with many types of fish and corals that has settled in. Other than the tangs and the bartlet anthias, these are the fish that will be the same size of the basslet......

4 blue/green chromis
1 royal gramma
1 geometric hawkfish
1 yellow banded possum wrasse
1 carpenter wrasse
1 solar wrasse
1 purple firefish
5 pajama cardinals
1 hi fin red banded goby

All these fish are in the tank over 9mths now, also wanted to find out if the royal gramma (same basslet family) will fight. I also see that they may eat shrimp. I have 2 small (1/2") fire shrimp, 4 cleaner and 5 peppermint (1/2"-1")
what are the possibilities with this fish, if not i'm thinking of something like the neon goby or something that stays very small and has color...............if not i'll add 2-3 small red firefish.......thanks

They do get aggressive, so additions will be problematical. I am not sure if they prey on hydroids.

Theoretically mixing basslets does not work (Live Aquaria compatibility chart) but since I have never done so, I cannot say for sure. They do prey on shrimp. Neon gobies have no issues other than requiring a male + female if you want a pair.

do you think i may be able to add a small pair (1/2") of banggai cardinals with my curren fish? mind you, the pajamas are about 1 1/2".

Hello All,
I am a relatively new reef keeper, and this is my first post. I have a 75Gal tank with 10Gal(looking to upgrade to 30gal) sump running for 8 months now. 50lbs fiji live rock, solar flare led lighting, vortech mp10 ecosmart powerhead, aquaclear powerhead, and mini-g skimmer. Alive: 2 ocellaris clowns, coral beauty, pajama cardinal, flasher wrasse, blue cleaner wrasse, juvie atlantic blue tang, marine beta, algae blennie, mandarin dragonette, hawkfish, several various hermits, snails, blue linkia starfish, sand sifting star, feather star, 2 emerald crabs(never see them), arrowhead crab, coral band shrimp, blood shrimp, sun cup coral, 2 trumpet frags, duncan frag, 3 gonipora(1 green 1 pink, 1 red), 2 torch coral, 1 leather, 1 brain(not doing well), 1 bubble, 1 yellow gorgonia, 3 feather duster worms, 1 orange fan sponge, 1 orange ball sponge, 1 lobo, 1 green brain, 1 frogspawn frag. I think that's it for now. Just putting it out there to see how i'm doing. Most corals "sleeping right now" so photos are not that good. Any suggestions, comments, questions, ideas and other totally welcome. Thanks!
OKay, can not submit photos at this time. will try again soon.

This thread is intended to be about marine fish compatibility before you purchase them. If you post this thread in New to the hobby as a separate thread, you will get lots of commentary and ideas.
