I currently have a Deep Blue 48x24x12 mixed reef with a 20 gallon sump. There is one Maroon clown fish, one yellow watchman and one Green clown goby. I'm looking to add to fish to this setup, below are the three options I'm considering.

Option 1
Kole Tang
3 Blue Chromis
Mystery Wrasse

Option 2
Flame Angle ( I love this fish but scared of it eating my corals)
3 Blue Chromis
Mystery Wrasse

Option 3
Yellow Tang
Kole Tang
Sixline Wrasse

Change in fish list based on your and others previous comments

I tried to keep the fish on the smaller size. I don't really want anything too big in there. I also tried to keep most of the fish on the peaceful side. Not sure how they will interact with each other. I know it is said damsels can be aggressive but the two sites I looked at said the one I picked was peaceful. I also know that the wrasses and the firefish, maybe even the gobies might be jumpers. I know egg crate won't work but I will have a canopy and fine mesh screening on any exposed gaps

Clown: pair of Black Ocellaris
Cardinal: pair of Bangai must be a male plus female
Basslet: one Royal Gramma
Damsel: one Blue Sapphire aggressive, I would not do this
Tang: one Bristle tooth Tomini
Dartfish: one firefish introduce early
Blenny: one Harp tail
Wrasse: pair of Carpenter's Flasher must be male plus female or juvenile
Gobies: One Green clown, one Neon Blue, and one Yasha White ray w/tiger or skunk pistol
Dragonette: Green Mandarin later on down the road 9 months to a year

fine except as noted

How about a flame angle of another tang to go with the two tangs all ready in their? Such as a Bristol tooth or powder brown to go with the yellow tang and powder blue?

This is about 60 gallons rather than the 34 gallons in your signature

There is one Maroon clown fish which will be problematic once it becomes a mature female , one yellow watchman and one Green clown goby. I'm looking to add to fish to this setup, below are the three options I'm considering.

Option 1
Kole Tang needs a larger tank
3 Blue Chromis will diminish to one
Mystery Wrasse not shrimp safe

Option 2
Flame Angle ( I love this fish but scared of it eating my corals)
3 Blue Chromis will diminish to one
Mystery Wrasse not shrimp safe

Option 3
Yellow Tang needs a larger tank
Kole Tang needs a larger tank
Sixline Wrasse very aggressive

Adding tangs to a six foot tank with an established yellow and powder blue is not likely to be long term viable. Also, when reasking, please provide entire stocking list as I have a poor memory.

Thanks for the input I do plan on having the pairs be one male and one female and I'll take the Damsel out really appreciate your help

Yes, the tank is a 60 gallon deep blue shallow. I assumed I would be OK getting a Kole Tang since the tank has the same footprint as a 120, just shorter.

I would like to thank you in advance for your assistance with this tread as I see it keeps you very busy. My tank will be FOWLR and is 300 gallons 96x24x31. It has a built in sump that houses my skimmer and the wet dry bio balls. I have a sand substrate, 150 lbs of base rock in place and plan on adding 50 lbs of live rock next week to start the cycle. Im looking at this crew of course added slowly until complete.

one of the clean up crew packages (snails and small hermits)
1 Cleaner Shrimp
2 Coral Banded Shrimp
2 Emerald Crabs
1 diamond watchman goby
1 Sleeper Gold head goby
2 Firefish Goby
1 Purple Dotty back
5 Lyretail Anthers (females)
1 Bicolor Benny
2 Clown Goby
1 Fox Face
3 Yellow Tangs
1 Royal Gramma
2 Black and White Ocellaris Clownfish
2 Percula Clowns

one of the clean up crew packages (snails and small hermits)
1 Cleaner Shrimp
2 Coral Banded Shrimp can take fish; two require a bonded pair or they will kill each other
2 Emerald Crabs
1 diamond watchman goby
1 Sleeper Gold head goby will deplete your sand bed of beneficial organisms then most likely starve in the long run
2 Firefish Goby unless a bonded pair, only one will survive
1 Purple Dotty back inconsistent with firefish and with fairy and flasher wrasses; very aggressive
5 Lyretail Anthers (females)
1 Bicolor Benny
2 Clown Goby
1 Fox Face
3 Yellow Tangs difficult; may or may not work and MUST be added concurrently and the last fish added
1 Royal Gramma
2 Black and White Ocellaris Clownfish you only get ONE pair of clownfish
2 Percula Clowns

a bonded pair? does that mean mates and how do I ensure I get this?

Unfortunately with firefish there is no way to ensure you get a bonded pair. If they are not, they will get along for a while, then one will be intimidated by the other and stop eating. The solution is to get only one, or if you like rolling the dice, get more than one and hope you get lucky.

invert question

invert question

Can I put a Halloween hermit, emerald crab, pom pom crab, cleaner shrimp.... 15 dwarf ceriths or 6 FL ceriths, 5 Nassarius and 6 Nerites together in one tank?

It's the 34 gallon Solana tank...30 lbs of LR, it's actually I'd say around 26-28 gallons with the cut out in the back.

It's been cycling for over a month. I'm doing a water change this weekend for the first time. Getting ready to add the crew, just not exactly sure what to add and how much a one time or if I can put all that in there.

I plan on 2 or three fish a pr of clowns and something else, not sure.

thanks!

This thread is only about marine fish compatibility. As such I don't answer questions on inverts. By the way, however, a pair of clowns will have differing behavioral characteristics depending on species. Some species will own your tank and will not tolerate other fish.

okay, thanks! I'm thinking about a pair of snowflake clowns. I plan to have coral and tank isnt' that big so maybe the pair of clowns is all I need with the crew.

Those are a morphological variety of a relatively peaceful species. No problem.

New fish advice

New fish advice

I have a 65 gallon that's been up for about a year. Theres a 20 gallon sump.
The temp is kept at 77' the ph is 8.2.
The Firefish are battling, so the purple will be removed. How would a Yellow Assessor do in this set up? Maybe a Blue Chromis? It's essential that the fish are peaceful. Was thinking of a Royal Gamma, but their temperaments vary, so it's too risky. Orchid Dottyback would be great except for the temperament. Do you have any suggestions? Something peaceful, small, hyper-colorful, and preferably something that won't eat 'pods. The Wrasse and the Mandarin enjoy the 'pods, and so far there is a balance between what they eat and the ' pods reproduction. Another fish eating 'pods would throw the balance off. I was looking at a Court Jester Goby, but they eat GHA and there is zero in the tank.
Any suggestions?

As those who follow this thread know, I do not provide recommendations for a variety of reasons. However, I am always happy to review stocking plans for compatibility provided you supply tank size and a total stocking list.

20 Gallon Tall, Aquaclear 50 (being converted into a refugium) 2x Koralia Nano 425s, no sump, 20lbs sand, 15lbs live rock

1x yellow watchman goby
1x Red firefish
2x Ocellaris clownfish

would this be too much for a 20 gallon tall with weekly water changes?
