Hello friends,
I have a 375 gallon bow front. It has a nice almost 100 gallon sump to add volume. The tank is 2 months old and fully cycled. There are some rocks to hide etc.for various fish that I intend to stock. Here is my list. I plan to make the best of all types. Tell me I m not extreme nuts..

H.magnificia 1 qty after tank is mature; may not be angel safe
2 maroon clowns
3 moorish idols please read moorish idol tread
1 flame angel
1 blue face angel
1 asfur angel
1 zebra moray
1 lionfish will eat many of your tank mates
1 powder blue surgeon
1 sohal tang will kill fish
1 unicorn tang needs a larger tank
1 clown surgeon needs a larger tank and is very difficult
3 blue devil damsels
1 harlequin tusk
The above would be phase 1. Once I see practically how much space I would be left with see what more can be added.

Do let me know Thanks a ton

Thanks a million! I intend to add a zebra dwarf lionfish. And apart from the damsel I don't think anything else will fit in its mouth. I intend to get bigger size fish that way. Will it still be an issue?
Others I will go by your advise

I do not really like to advise on aggressive community tanks. With any type of eel or lionfish, it would be best to ask in the Aggressive Fish Forum. Sorry. However I am sure you will get many opinions there.

Divers den had a bonded pair of Caracanthus madagascariensis, which I've never seen before. Other than being venomous, is there anything about these fish that one should know before purchasing?

I didn't buy them this time, however I think they would be a great addition should the opportunity arise again.

They have venomous spines, velvet fish are ambush predators, and generally not good community tank fish.

Here is an informational thread for you.

Hello:

I am in the process of designing my standard 125g build (hopefully going to start adding water and rocks in the next 2-3 weeks), and so the family and I have been browsing "potential" fish inhabitants and so have compiled a list of some species that we would like to see. The idea for the tank is about 100-150 lbs of live rock with a 2-3" sandbed. Skimmer will be a Vertex Omega 150 in a 55g baffled sump with refugium, (2) Photon32s for lights, and 2 WP-40s for in tank circulation. I plan on keeping LPS/SPS corals with a few mushrooms.

Also, please note that we don't necessarily have to have all of the fish listed below, this is just a list to select from. I am not sure how large of a bioload this size tank can support - please advise on max bioload limits, if possible? Also, please advise of tank introduction order. Sorry - just want to do it right the first time!

1. Lamarck's Angelfish
2. Flame Angelfish
3. Clown Goby
4. Hi-Fin Redbanded Goby
5. Bluedot Jawfish
6. Ocellaris Clownfish (x2)
7. McCosker's Flasher Wrasse
8. Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse
9. Whip Fin Fairy Wrasse
10. Powder Blue/Brown Tang
11. Colored Filefish
12. Scarlet/Electric Blue Hermit Crabs
13. Cerith/Nassarius/Nerite Snails

I appreciate any feedbacK!

1. Lamarck's Angelfish
2. Flame Angelfish add after tank is about 4-5 months mature
3. Clown Goby
4. Hi-Fin Redbanded Goby
5. Bluedot Jawfish since these are collected in the sea of cortez, they do best long term with cooler temperatures, e.g. 72-75F
6. Ocellaris Clownfish (x2)
7. McCosker's Flasher Wrasse
8. Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse
9. Whip Fin Fairy Wrasse on the aggressive side
10. Powder Blue/Brown Tang add last
11. Colored Filefish
12. Scarlet/Electric Blue Hermit Crabs snails are killed by crabs so pick snails or crabs, but not both
13. Cerith/Nassarius/Nerite Snails

I appreciate any feedbacK!

Behavior normally trumps any bioload considerations. Fine except as annotated

Planning while Cycling - ALL Suggestions Welcome!

Looking for advice on the Set Up vs. Fish and if I will over come the tank with these fish. Open to any and all suggestions.

Equipment

- 266 liter (~ 70 gal) Glass overflow style tank (90cm x 45cm x 60cm)
- ~31 gal sump 3 chamber
- Coralife Super Skimmer with Pump
- Miracle Mud refuge (looking to possibly add Maiden's Hair Plant (Chlorodesmis sp.) since it is the only macro-algae type I can get at the LFS.
- Hydor 740 Universal Pump - 740 gph - Original Seltz L40
- Coralife Lunar Aqualight High Output T5 Quad Lamp Fixture
- Hydor Koralia Magnum Circulation Pump
- Cooler (not sure of the specs was sold to me by the fish store. The part I could read said up to 700gal I believe)

Substrate

- Approx. 15 kg (~33 lbs) live rock
- Natures Ocean Live Aragonite Reef Sand (180 lbs w/ 16 lbs of reef substrate)

Fish and Inverts I am considering
- 2 Ocellaris Clownfish (Have to have at least 1)
- 1 Lemonpeel Angelfish (LFS says I could put an Emperor Angelfish in this tank "it will grow to the tank size but stay small" not sure about this)
- 5 Blue Reef Chromis or Blue/Green Reef Chromis
- 2-3 Dragon Goby (red tail white head)
- Tank cleaning crew (I haven't researched this one fully yet open to suggestions snails, shrimp, worms, urchins and hermit crabs are the most readily available. How many? and What kind?)

***Not until well established***
- Bubble tip anemone

The tank is set up and cycling now. I appreciate all the help I can get while I am doing my research, learning and planning out the Marine Life.

Fish and Inverts I am considering
- 2 Ocellaris Clownfish (Have to have at least 1) a pair is fine but be sure you get tiny juveniles
- 1 Lemonpeel Angelfish (LFS says I could put an Emperor Angelfish in this tank "it will grow to the tank size but stay small" not sure about this) not reef safe, and definitely not a large angel such as P. Imperator; your LFS is not giving you good information because they want to sell you a fish
- 5 Blue Reef Chromis or Blue/Green Reef Chromis chromis do not shoal; over time the most aggressive will knock of the rest until there is only one
- 2-3 Dragon Goby (red tail white head) can you get me the real name; dragon goby is a fresh water fish
- Tank cleaning crew (I haven't researched this one fully yet open to suggestions snails, shrimp, worms, urchins and hermit crabs are the most readily available. How many? and What kind?) pick snails or crabs but not both since crabs kill shails

Thanks for the info Steve.

So it looks like I am leaning towards

2 - Ocellaris Clownfish
1 - Dwarf LemonPeel Angel
1 - Chromis (color TBD)
2 -3 FIRE FISH Gobies

And I'll probably stick to one or the other on the cleaning crew. Will Shrimp mix well with this? Maybe Scarlet Skunk or Banded Coral type?

Any Ideas for the refuge? none of the LFS's have heard nor use (that I have seen) macro algae in the refuge? Is it needed or will Maiden's Hair Plant work?

All my info is gathered from LiveAquaria.com.

I have a 60 gallon blue reef cube.

So far i have 1 sand sifting star, 2 Bagai Cardinals, 2 Chalk Bass, 2 Cleaner shrimp, And a Large pinnis Goby. I have several snails and hermit for cleaning

I am thinking of getting

5 Blue/Green Chromis ( i keep reading different things on these schooling and not schooling. Some say they never killed each other and some say they did. For the price i will take my chance i guess)
1 Orchid Dotty Back
1 Fairy Wrasse or some other wrasse
1 Clown Goby
2 Black and white clowns or other types

1 Clown Goby
2 Black and white clowns or other types

fine, except as noted
