I am looking at finishing up stockig my tank before I go coral crazy.
I need a suggestion on some fish.

Currently I have.

2 yellow tangs. They get along with everything and each other
1 blue tang
1 lawnmower blenny
2 ocellaris clowns
4 blue chromis
1 blue legged hermit crab
A variety of snails. The exact number escapes me.

I am looking to add a naso tang.

And I need something red in the tank to offset my color. I love the flame angel but I don't want to risk my corals. Suggestions?

I have a 150 gallon tank. 40 gallon sump. Bubble magus nac 7 skimmer. MH lights etc etc.

Unfortunately a naso tang requires a larger tank as does a heptatus tank. For red, a red flame hawk is a fun, interesting fish, but it is not shrimp safe. Also, flasher wrasses would be a consideration.

75g/ 55 sump, 2x 175w 20,000k mh, aquac ev240 with mag 18, 2x mp 40's
i currently have
yellow tang
midas blenny
firefish
occ clown
ywg

i want to go more nem/clam dominant n get rid of or at least stop focusing on corals. i know its a weird combo. i got 3 rbta's n 1 maxima. looking to get as many of each as i can.
wondering if i could get a small harem of bartletts? want them to pretty much be all the fish in the system. if bartletts wont do, is there anything other than a few chromis i can get a school of?

Well no fish will really "school" in a 75 gallon tank and chromis will reduce their number to one or at most two. Some cardinal fish will initially hang out together but they will eventually pair off.

55gal reef tank, about 3 months old at this point.
I have 2 percula clownfish in there, 3-4 corals (yelllow polyps+mystery coral, flowerpot, hammer).

possible fish to add:
Spotted Cardinalfish (2-4)
Royal Gramma
Purple Firefish Goby

Wrasse: hopefully one of one of these
McCosker Flasher or
Carpenter Flasher or
Long fin Fairy or
Whip fin Fairy

Dwarf Angle: either a Coral Beauty or Flame anglefish

McCosker Flasher or One of the flashers would be better than either fairy wrasse as those fairy wrasses are a bit aggressive
Carpenter Flasher or
Long fin Fairy or
Whip fin Fairy

Angelfish are not reef safe

So getting ready to add some more fish to my tank. 55 Gallon reef that has been running for a year now. Mainly SPS and all fish have been in QT for the past 10 weeks due to ich, getting ready to put em back into the DT and want to add a some new fish.

Here is what I currently have:
Occ/Perc pair
Pink spot goby
Lubbocks Fairy wrasse

Here are some of the fish I have been thinking off getting:
Vroliks Wrasse
Red velvet Fairy wrasse
Lyrtail anthias (female)
Starry Blenny or midas blenny

Also considering (not all of the above and these, the below would replace one of the fish above)
Melanurus Wrasse
Labouts Wrasse
Exquisite Fairy Wrasse
Purple Firefish
Mcoskers or carpenters flashers (or similar)
Red head solon

Thoughts? and any suggestions would also be appreciated. By the way if you cant tell, really like them wrasses!

Thanks

Inteded fish list for 180 gallons reeftank

My reef tank (LPS mainly, 2 hermits, 3 cleaner shrimps) has 1 chevron tang, a salaria blenny and a tailspot blenny.

I was planning to add the following fishes. My priorities are to choose hardy peaceful fishes (although i quarentine now all - learned the hard way...all 11 fishes dead for marine velvet), and to stay on the low bioload side.

1- clown pair
2- bellus angel pair
3- 1 butterfly: yellow longnose/pyramid ?
4- 1 file fish- which one do you advise?
5- Another blenny (i love them). is there any interesting blenny i might add without fight.
6- another tang (pyroferus ? purple tang?, another?) or instead a school of small fishes (but please suggest those who are ok with a single "meal" per day - i can only feed them at night)

Thanks very much for your always valuable recommendations.

Hello

Just started stocking a 6ft 150, it has a pair of hoovens wrasse around 3in each. Will a 1.5in blue flasher be okay with them?

How are you treating the fish for ich?

Melanurus Wrasse may or may not coexist with your existing wrasse
Labouts Wrasse can be aggressive
Exquisite Fairy Wrasse
Purple Firefish ideally should be established early as they are shy
Mcoskers or carpenters flashers (or similar)
Red head solon can be very aggressive, also loses some coloration without a female

Thoughts? and any suggestions would also be appreciated. By the way if you cant tell, really like them wrasses!

Yes, so do I

Thanks

Thanks for the reply Steve. To answeer your question the fish have been treated in QT with Cupramine at (can't recall of the top of my head but the recommended 0.5?? PPM).

How long did you leave your tank fallow?

1- clown pair
2- bellus angel pair Males are difficult to get in because they ship poorly.
3- 1 butterfly: yellow longnose/pyramid ? Be sure to quarantine
4- 1 file fish- which one do you advise? I have an aiptasia eating filefish (which does not eat aiptasia) but none are guaranteed to be reef safe
5- Another blenny (i love them). is there any interesting blenny i might add without fight. It is an ecological niche issue. No guarantee on a second blenny not fighting
6- another tang (pyroferus ? purple tang?, another?) or instead a school of small fishes (but please suggest those who are ok with a single "meal" per day - i can only feed them at night)

That is tough. I prefer only one tang because of perceived competition for food. I love anthias but they really should be fed twice. Can you feed in morning before leaving?

For how long? What was your testing protocol? (how often and when did you test for copper?) I ask because the other thing I do here is help in the Fish Diseases Forum.

Thanks Steve I really appreciate your help. Tested twice a week with the Seachem copper test, and added more cupramine to the water chnage water. This always kept the copper level at Seachems recommended levels. Fish have been treated for 4 weeks with cupramine and now observed for the past 6 or so with no signs of ich. DT has been fallow for going on 14 weeks without fish however I did add a coral so will wait an extra 3 weeks before reintroducing the fish. Does that sound like the right path?

Yes, it sounds pretty good. I recommend testing every day before lights go out because the life cycle phase that is vulnerable to copper occurs at night. Corals can bring in ich but the odds are very small and your extra time should be more than sufficient (one week is adequate).

Updated above.
I removed the fish you said were incompatible/aggressive.
Like I said I already have 2 fish in there already. Since you suggested the firefish being in first I will work on getting him in asap before any others.

I am trying to get something yellow in the tank. Would a Citrinis Clown Goby and/or a Yellow Candy Hogfish be ok in my tank?

I'm working on stocking my Cadlights 39g AIO. It will be mostly softies and LPS. I have 2 occ. clowns, and small peppermint and cleaner shrimp. Looking to fill it out with 2-3 more fish. I intend to have a goby/shrimp pair soon, and would love a Dragonet once the tank is well established. Looking for some colorful/active/peaceful options to fill out the mid/top water area. Had earlier thought about wrasses (possum and flasher were recommended) but I've gotten wind of some aggression issues. Same with some off the blennies. I'm not inclined to want anything difficult, aggtessive, or exotic, buy do want to add interest, movement, and color (to keep the wife interested). Any suggestions?
