Does your clown type match your anemone species?

I think so, the clowns haven't took interst in the anemone. I have added a pair of carpenter wrasse over the weekend.
Fish list for 65 gal update:
3 Darwin or Shannon 'a clowns
2 carpenter flasher wrasses
1 alge blenny

I will add a prawn goby eventually. Can I add another flasher in the next few days? I don't want the new fish to be bullied . Thx:)

While not the subject for this thread, please check out this for anemone/clownfish matching. I suggest you develop a quarantine protocol as just adding fish to the display tank will not turn out well.

Was wondering if you know anything about the canary deep water damsel?

http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+28+1131&pcatid=1131

i recently moved and sold off all my livestock from a 450g. I really like the way they look and am hoping they will work with my list most of which I had when it was previously up and running.

Flame angel trio
Multicolor Angel trio
Yellowhead pearly jawfish pair keep only one previously
Five royal grammas had a trio. I don't know why more people don't keep at least 2 of them.
Lyretail Anthias 9
Dispar Anthias 12
Maybe a few sunburst anthias or resplendents not sure
Starcki damsel trio
8-10 yellowtail damsel? Didn't have before
3-5 Azure damsel? Same as above
Pair of Kaudern Cardinalfish pair
Midas blenny
Maybe a Mandarin

Thanks

I'm a guessing you overlooked this

Thanks

sorry, I must have missed this one. I assume you are talking about a 450 gallon tank. I have not kept this fish, but in your sized tank with that population plan, should work fine.

I'm in the process of setting up a 180 gallon tank (6'x2'x2') and need some advice. I want to try difficult to keep fish to get some experience and try my hand with them, specifically a regal angel and Achilles tang. However because i don't have much experience it is probably better for the fish and my wallet that I don't at this time. So the fish I would like to keep are:

Purple tang
Powder Blue tang
Harlequin tusk
Majestic angel
Flame angel
Mystery wrasse
Starry blenny
Diamond watchman goby
Saddleback butterfly

Do you think it would be better or beneficial if I generally had fish that had the same diet?

Do you think the the flame angel or any dwarf angel would be safe with the tusk?

However because i don't have much experience it is probably better for the fish and my wallet that I don't at this time. So the fish I would like to keep are:

Purple tang last
Powder Blue tang last
Harlequin tusk Although they will not bother corals, they will eat any small crustacean such as snails or crabs.
Majestic angel
Flame angel
Mystery wrasse will limit some tank mates
Starry blenny
Diamond watchman goby
Saddleback butterfly

Do you think it would be better or beneficial if I generally had fish that had the same diet? In my opinion, no. I always recommend having fish that reside in different ecological niches. You have four algae grazers, which are ok, but marginal in your sized tank.

Do you think the the flame angel or any dwarf angel would be safe with the tusk? Yes.

i have a 29 gallon tank, currently 1 month old, 30 lbs live sand, 35 lbs of live rock, 2 aquaclear 70, (will soon put a sump on it) snails, few hermits, 2 sally light foot. few mustrooms, i leather . thinking of adding 2 clowns, and a pistal goby combo

Depending on the species of clownfish, that should be fine. Note that Sally light foot crabs can take fish.

Black Ice Snowflake Clownfish, amphiprion ocellaris. i am assuming if i buy 2 one wil turn into a female. and if you buy them young they shouldnt fight?

do you recommend adding an anemone, or is a 29 gallon tank too small for one' lighting is 120w maxspect led

If the pair of clownfish will be the only fish, the only one that might be ok is a Bubble Tip Anemone (Rose Anemone) Entacmaea quadricolor; however this thread is only about marine fish compatibility so I prefer not to get into anemone compatibility issues.

Hi Steve, I have a temporary quarantine stocklist question for you. I'm going to be doing the Tank Transfer Method for an ICH issue. I have a 75g, but due to a couple losses in my DT likely due to the ICH, my stocklist isn't at full capacity for a 75g. So, fish are as follows

1 Spot Foxface - 4"
Flamehawk - 2" (pretty little guy still)
2 Occ Clowns (maybe 1.5-2")
Bicolor Blenny - 4"
Firefish - 3"

What size tanks do you think i need? Could i get by with a couple of 20g for the 72 hour segments of the process? What about a 40g at the end when i'm waiting out the DT fallow period? I have an ungodly amount of claypots i've cut and sanded down the edges on, so i can make the tanks with as much of a maze and as many hiding places as i like. (I have enough pots to do several tanks so i can let them dry in between). Thanks in advance!

Sorry, but I respond to questions about Fish Diseases only in that forum since that is the place folks go to for general answers of that type. If you start your thread in that location, I will get to it as time allows. This thread is only about Marine Fish Compatibility and I do prioritize this thread as it is in New to the Hobby.

Want to Add Now
yellow goby fine
Pseudochromis fridmani may negatively interact with the firefish
pj cardinal fine
purple firefish fine

in a month
blue damsel (if too agressive, blue reef Chromis cyaneus) the chromis should be fine
carpenters wrasse may be a bit too active for this sized tank but if you do, be sure you have 1/4 inch mesh top

in 3 months
Flame Angel needs a larger tank

In this sized tank, with a mated pair of clownfish, I would think a total of six fish on the "fine" list including the clownfish would work

The clowns are just a friendly pair not mated.

So only four additional fish?

So the blue damsel is out right? Blue chromis is safer?

The clowns are just a friendly pair not mated.

Yet. Either they will become a bonded pair or you will end up with only one clownfish; once bonded they will want to control about 25 gallons of tank space

So only four additional fish? Four is fine, five would be ok if they are all peaceful

So the blue damsel is out right? Blue chromis is safer? The chromis is behaviorally preferable, but since they are highly susceptible to uronema marinum, be sure you have a good quarantine protocol
