Thanks Steve,
after reading your advice
I have changed my selection to the following:
1 Kauderns Cardinalfish,
1 Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse
1 Linespot Flasher Wrasse
1 Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse
3 Resplendent Anthias

please let me know what you think

'Those will be fine; however you still have the problems mentioned in my first answer

Inefficient eaters (4 in this tank) often result in nutrient rich tanks which cause hair algae. There is no fish (which is all this thread is about) that will clean up hair algae.

Thanks Steve....

Can i add another Tailspot Blenny? Also forgot to mention that i have a Melanurus Wrasse.

by problems you mean that the flasher wrasses are jumpers and I would need a hood correct?

thanks again

No. A Unicorn tang needs a minimum of a 350 gallon tank; only one firefish will survive long term and the yellow tang will make adding an algae eater difficult.

I have a 4yr old 30g topless shallow tank with 30 lbs of rock and 2in of sand
Currently I have a DaVinci clown...it's mate jumped out last week:(
A sand sifting goby
an abstasia eating filefish
and a lawnmower blenny

Any ideas for what I can add to it I need to add color to my tank since my corals got bleached thanks to an inadequate tanksitter who turned my lights on max and never turned them off

Hi Steve,

As soon as i think my plan is finalized something comes up that makes me think again.

Reef Tank: 150 gallon, 5 x 2 x 2

- Pair of Percula clowns (in tank)
- Royal Gramma (in tank)
- Clown Goby (in tank)
- Blue spotted Goby (in QT)
- Pair of Ignitus Anthias (in QT)
- Pair of swallowtail Angels (future)
- Bluehead Fairy Wrasse (future)
- Yellow Tang (future - last addition along with Kole)
- Kole Tang (future - last addition along with Yellow)

I think you've approved this plan before (but cant remember which list I posted before). Now I have a chance to get a mated pair of purple firefish from another reefer. Ive read in your other posts that over time, they will become 1, but not sure if that stands for a mated pair.

Would this be fine or too much bioload?

As those who follow this thread know, I do not provide recommendations for a variety of reasons. However I am always happy to review stocking plans as long as tank size, maturity and existing fish are presented.

bioload and behavior is fine. The yellow tang once established will make additions difficult.

If they are a mated pair, they will do fine. If the other reefer has had them for over six months, they should be fine as 4-6 months is the normal time frame when one gets intimidated and perishes.

Thanks Steve. Re: swallowtails. My plan was to actually get two females since my LFS can get them all the time, but rare to get males. LFS mentioned that one will turn male over time. True or not true?

Re: filefish. Right on the border. He's had them for 6 months.

Sorry 1 more question. The reefer is breaking down and asking me to take his purple tang but I figured 3 tangs would be too much and would be added before other fish which I also thought was not a good idea.

Recently started Red Sea Reefer 250 - 35.5x20x20. 10 gallon sump. 2 x MP10wQD / 1 Bubble Magus G5 skimmer. Aquamaxx Omega I media etc. etc.

This will be an SPS tank. Ample hiding places for fish.

I am a planner so this is what I am thinking about - first fish will be introduced around the 4 month mark.

4 x Red Stop Light Cardinalfish
1 x Yellow Candy Hogfish
1 x Clingfish
3 x Captive-Bred Orbic Cardinalfish
1 x Green Canary Blenny

Thank you for your imput!

correct but must be added concurrently

I would definitely not add a third tang and especially not in the beginning

Steve,
is it compatible to have Dispar Anthias, Carberryi Anthias and Resplendent Anthias in a 150 DT with live rock and sand??

I know that Carberryi and Resplendent are compatible as I have mixed them. However it was in a 240 gallon tank. Dispar, I do not know about compatibility with the others.
