Thanks Steve. I guess I should have added that this was the order in which I planned to introduce them to the tank also.
No problem, just making sure.
Thanks Steve. I guess I should have added that this was the order in which I planned to introduce them to the tank also.
I have a 6 foot 125 Gal 24 inches tall with a deep sand bed and about 100 to 125 LBS of rock for structure and plan on SPS and maybe some softies. Lighting I think since I have it on hand will be Two 400 Watt MH with 2 20K XM Bulbs.
Current Fish in Tank are a Bristletooth Tomini Tang and a Yellow Tang.
So the question is what if any other fish should I add to the tank that would benefit the tank itself? I might be wrong in this assumption but I would think it best not to add anything to a Tank that will not benefit the tank.
New Guy here. Would like to get some opinions on this set up Thanks! 30g half cylinder
Fluval g6
Corallife turbo twist 36 watt UV sterilizer
JBJ true temp digital thermo/Heater
20lbs of cured live rock
live sand
dwarf lion
snowflake eel
chocolate chip starfish
a few snails- Need input on this
Hermit crab- Also need input. Basically I need to know what cleaners would be good for a small predator tank. Thanks, Jimi
The above was what I have as a wish list. I was just wondering if that would work?? So I would need a bigger tank?? I was told by my lfs a Fu manchu lion would be fine in that tank. Is the eel also to big ???
Well two tangs is pushing it a bit for that sized tank. Additional fish need to be small and not algae grazers. That yellow tang will not be happy with any additions of any size.
Thanks Snorvich good point. I think I will try another lfs and continue to seek advice on here. So im thinking there is no predator fish that are small??
So for the benefit of the Tank just leave the Two Tangs that I have now in the tank with no other fish?
No, not necessarily so. However you added the wrong fish first. You need to look at small fish that are interesting .
110G w/ 40G Sump this is what I am considering;
3x Bangaii Cardinalfish only a male + female pair, the third will be killed
Starry Blenny
ORA Mandarin (hopefully in a year )
Splendid Dottyback very aggressive and not recommended except in very large tanks
Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse C. solorensis is slightly on the aggressive side and will lose some coloration absent a female
Clown Goby, Green
Friend is dismantling her fish tank and has offered me a yellow tang and two azure damsels. Good start, some healthy fish for cheap. These three would be the first ones in.
Thank You but maybe I asked the question wrong. What Fish would be good for the tank?
Planning a tank, want some fish compatibility advice.
26g reef tank - LPS, Soft Corals
1x Firefish
1x Ocellaris Clownfish
+1 Pick from these:
"¢ Kaudern's Cardinal One should be fine
"¢ Bicolor Dottyback aggressive, especially in a small tank
"¢ Six Line Wrasse aggressive, especially in a small tank
"¢ Spotted Mandarin Sorry your tank is too small to sustain this fish
"¢ Yellow-tail Damselfish aggressive, especially in a small tank
"¢ Green Clown Goby
"¢ Court Jester Goby
"¢ Prawn Goby (Yellow or Orange Stripe)
I've heard iffy things about some of these species, particularly the dottyback and wrasse. I'll probably steer clear from those. I really like the cardinal though, if he's a good option.
Hey I have a 75 gal. soft coral tank and was wanting to check with ya before i made my last two additions.
Already have:
1-Gramma loreto (royal gramma)
1-Nemateleotris decora (purple firefish)
1-Amphiprion ocellaris (ocellaris clown)
1-Amblygobius hectori (hector's goby)
1-Cryptocentrus cinctus (yellow watchman goby)
Want to add:
1-Serranocirrhitus latus (fathead sunburst anthia) or 1-Pseudanthias pulcherrimus (resplendent anthia) either would work, I personally like Pseudanthias pulcherrimus
and
1-Ctenochaetus flavicauda (white tail bristletooth tang)
I do not see any issues
Thanks for your help in advance and for taking the time to do this.
