Suggestions from the experts?

I have a 90G with 40G sump/refug, 175lbs live rock, 2" sand bed, and was wondering about the following fish combination...

Current Fish
2 Clarki Clowns (I already have these and they are hosted by rbta)
Future Fish
1 Yellow Tang
1 Kole Tang
1 Purple Firefish
4 Reef Chromis
1 Six Line Wrasse
1 Randalls Goby (Paired with Randalls Pistol Shrimp)
1 Mandarin (After tank is 1 year and loaded with copepods)

Current Fish
2 Clarki Clowns (I already have these and they are hosted by rbta) One of the most aggressive clowns
Future Fish
1 Yellow Tang Your tank is not large enough for two tangs, the yellow is the more aggressive of the two
1 Kole Tang
1 Purple Firefish
4 Reef Chromis will likely winnow down to one or two in the long run
1 Six Line Wrasse very aggressive fish, may intimidate a firefish or similar
1 Randalls Goby (Paired with Randalls Pistol Shrimp)
1 Mandarin (After tank is 1 year and loaded with copepods)

Steve,

Thanks for your expertise. If I scratch the Yellow Tang would the rest work as far as bio-load is concerned? Also, do you have a suggestion for a wrasse other than the six-line wrasse I had on my list? Finally, if I scratch the Yellow Tang and Kole Tang is a 90G big enough for a Powder Blue Tang? I am trying to stick with a tang that is well suited for a smaller aquarium. Thanks again for your help.

Yes

Look at one of the three species of possum wrasse. Fascinating fish.

Finally, if I scratch the Yellow Tang and Kole Tang is a 90G big enough for a Powder Blue Tang?

Unfortunately not. The Kole is by far the better option.

It appears as though my 75 gallon tank has finished cycling. I will more than likely order my cuc this week. I was wondering if I could add a couple cleaner shrimp the same time I add my cuc? If so, Can I add the shrimp right away or do they need to go into my QT first? I think I know the answer to this, but would like to confirm that I do the 50% water change first then add cuc?

shrimp do not need to be quarantined. But be sure that SG is equalized through proper drip acclimation. This thread is about marine fish compatibility so answers to other questions would do best as a separate thread.

Thanks. I will start a separate thread on this.

1x True Perc Clownfish
1x Firefish Goby
1x Six Line Wrasse

Tank - Hey everyone, this is my first salt water tank, and it has been up and running for the past 5 months now. I'd love some feedback on what I should do next, if I should remove some things, add some things, etc. I'm open to suggestions and eager to hear from all of the experienced hobbyists out here. Thanks in advance!

What I've got going on in it ...
Tank - 12g JBJ Nano DX 15.8"" (L) x 13.8"" (W) x 14.8"" (H)
Sump -
First Chamber - Two pieces of stock sponge filter that came with tank.

Second Chamber - 1/2 Chemi-Pure Elite Filter Medium in Nylon Bag - I was also about to put in an Oceanic Nano Cube Protein Skimmer, but for some reason the hose that came with it was not assembled (Didn't have the air line flow valve in it) so I'm going to get it exchanged early next week when I get a chance.

Third chamber - Stock return pump 106 GPH (planning on upgrading to a Hydor Koralia Nano 240gph shortly)

Also have a surface skimmer that attaches to the sump intake.

Lighting - (2) 24 Watt 50/50 CF Lamp + Remote Ballast, (2) Nite Vu LED Moonlights

Inside the tank ....
Natural Filter - Nature's Ocean Bio-Activ Live Aragonite Reef Sand 10 lb.
About 12 pounds of live rock.

Corals - Green mushrooms, Kenyan Tree and a Torch ... if anyone has some great suggestions on what I should get next, please let me know!

CUC - About 8 various snails (Turbos and what not), 5 Blue legged hermit crabs, 1 Cleaner Shrimp, 1 Emerald Crab, 1 Red Fiddler crab and 1 large snail, he's about 3 inches in length (forgot the name, but it's shell looks similar to the Orange Spot Butterscotch Nassarius Snail).

Water parameters - Temp 85 F, PH - 8.2, Nitrates - 0 ppm, Nitrites - 0 ppm, Ammonia - 0 ppm, Salinity 1.024 ... I don't have a test of calcium or alkalinity

Thanks!

This is an expert thread answered by RC staff about marine fish compatibility, so best results for this type of question, would come from asking your question as a separate thread in New to the Hobby.

I'm mostly looking for something easy to start with for a 10-20 gallon tank. I'm mostly interested in inverts, but I'm looking for cool fish to accompany them.

Hello and thanks in advanced for any advice. Before I list the fish I just had a question or two about tankmate selection. If you choose peaceful, semi-aggressive or aggressive fish are you to choose fish of the same manners? If not how are you go about figuring which are really compatible? I check 2 different compatibility charts compatibility a both said all mine were ok together but I definitely want to check here first.
Its a 36g bowfront. 36 lbs of live sand and roughly 35lbs of live rock.
fish selection: 2 true perc or o. Clowns, 1 6 line wrasse, 1 Valentino puffer and 1 royal gramma or bicolor dottyback.

Thanks again,
Lauren.

If you provide a perspective stocking list we will be happy to provide commentary.

charts are difficult, experience is much better especially given that we are not trying to sell fish

Its a 36g bowfront. 36 lbs of live sand and roughly 35lbs of live rock.
fish selection: 2 true perc or o. Clowns,

Once sexually mature, will become aggressive and want to control about 25-30 gallons of tank space

1 6 line wrasse,

Very aggressive, I recommend against

1 Valentino puffer

A valentino puffer will fight with conspecifics such as the filefish, large finned fish, and other tobies. It may be aggressive at times, nipping the fins of tank mates, leaving a circular hole as its mark. It will also eat invertebrates found in a reef tank. Its teeth are actually a fused beak-like structure.

and 1 royal gramma great fish, excellent coloration or bicolor dottyback.

Very aggressive, not recommended

Thanks again,
Lauren.

We have a 29 gallon BioCube HQI with 30 lbs Fiji live rock, 20 lbs live sand, 10+ blue leg hermit crabs, 2 turbo snails, 2 nassarius snails, 1 peppermint shrimp (will be leaving our tank soon), and 1 perc clownfish.
We also have some cute button polyps, and 2 frags of frogspawn

We would like to add:
1 pajama cardinal
1 tiny blue tang (our LFS has already agreed to let us exchange out when he starts to get too big)

Would like to add 1 or 2 more fish down the line but still not sure what yet..
My husband wants to get a dwarf lion fish but I'm not so keen on the idea, so his next choice was the pj cardinal, I would rather have that over a lion fish ANY day! Lol

I am never able to recommend getting a fish that will be changed out later. That particular fish grows quickly and the RC recommendation is a 240 gallon tank.

Well lionfish, even dwarf lionfish will eat and/or attempt to eat any fish that can fit in their mouth.

60-gallon tank has been up-and-running for about three months, everything is flourishing and the parameters are nice and stable; right where they should be. The following are my current fish/verts, all are very small.

1) one yellowtail wrasse
2) one sand-sifting goby
3) two small percula clowns
4) a few emerald crab/red-legged hermits and misc. snails

I want to add a couple more fish. I do have a bunch of soft corals. Been thinking about some anthias, leopard/christmas wrasse, dwarf angels. What are my other options?

Lots of options and we will be happy to comment on compatibility if you provide a stocking list.

This is what I have
1 orange ocellaris clown
1 black ocellaris clown
1 Bi color blenny
1 Tailspot blenny
1 Foxface
1 Yellow watchman goby*
2 bangai cardinals
3 chromis

I am considering adding these below
My question is, is this too much of a bioload for my tank?
Pair of blue throat triggers (last)
3-4 lyretail anthias (soon)
Mandarin (future
Six line (future)
