50G Cube 24x24x20 reef

Current stock:
(2) Black & White clowns
(1) Melanurus Wrasse
(1) Aurora Goby
(1) Pistol Shrimp
(2) Harlequin Shrimp
(1) Barnacle Blenny

Can I add anything else or am I stacked?

No, you have additional bioload. Howeverthe clowns when mature are going to be very aggressive towards water column fish. Remember the Harlequin shrimp only eats starfish legs.

I'm new to the salt water aquarium. Though it has been very therapeutic for me when I have it in my presence. I was in a really bad accident and have some loss of memory... but for some reason... these saltwater aquariums and along with the beauty of the fish and corals are amazingly stunning. I have a 90 gallon deep blue. I paid someone to come help me and he never showed up. He took my money and now I have to seek and take further action.

Basically what I have in it right now are some live rock..about 4 pieces and along with that some dead coral ... at one point it was all white.. but now has and is turning shades of brown. I don't know how good this may be or if it is harmful.

I am one month and a week exactly into cycling the tank. I have a total of eight damsels left out of sixteen in total that I started with. I loved it when the tank looked clean and white.. meaning the corals etc etc. I know I'm a little slow with all this but i need help.

I have grown to care for even the starter fish. My salinity is 1.020 at the moment. I have a RED SEA Marine care test kit. It has Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite, pH and Alkalinity. I just need a little help here.. I don't know what levels are normal.

Basically I need help. A good friend of mine had recommended this site for me ... he used to have a 450g tank but he's out of the game now due to being full time busy. But I did hear everyone that does know about this site.. well.. they all speak and spoke very highly of it.

I thank you for taking the time to read and I hope to hear back very soon. Thank you so very much.

What you want to do is post your question (this post) in New to the Hobby (which can be found here.) as a separate thread where you will get lots of help. This particular thread is only about marine fish compatibility.

Before I post this, I just want to say THANK YOU to Steve and the rest of the RC team for "watching over us". Here's my current setup..

120g mixed reef, live rock
20g sump
SPS and LPS, mushrooms, etc
tank parameters are stable at:
salinity - 1.026
pH - 8.2
temp - 80.0

Dejardini Tang
Yellow Tang
Perc Clown
Blue Damsel
few snails and hermits

Considering one of these:

Valentini Puffer
or
Longhorn Cowfish

I understand the puffer may try to make a meal out of my inverts, but should I be concerned about compatibility with the other fish?

Between the two, the cowfish will grow significantly larger. Is 120g large enough?

I’m leaning towards the cowfish, but your insight is appreciated.

Thanks

Okay, here's my final stocking scheme for my 65g with 20g sump with Reef Octo skimmer. The only problem I see is with the wrasse/mandarin...I was planning on getting an ORA mandarin or one that is already eating frozen. Everything else look okay ?

Yellowhead Jawfish (added 1st)
Melanurus Wrasse
Royal Gramma
2 Bangaii Cardinalfish
Mandarin (will be added 3/2013)
Starry Blenny

Inverts include various snails, staghorn hermits, fighting conch. I would like to add a cleaner shrimp and a tuxedo urchin when the tank is a little more mature. Corals are pretty much zoa's, shrooms, & LPS if that makes a difference.

Dejardini Tang As time goes on, two tangs, especially a sailfin and yellow will have problems in this sized tank
Yellow Tang
Perc Clown
Blue Damsel
few snails and hermits

Considering one of these:

Valentini Puffer In addition to inverts, it may take bites out of your other fish
or
Longhorn Cowfish Since this fish can approach 2 feet in length it is not really suitable for your tank. As a mental exercise picture a one foot fish in your current tank.

The track record with ORA mandarins is not good, in fact wild caught have a much greater chance of success. Just because mandarins may eat frozen, does not mean that they will survive unless there is sufficient copepods in the tank since they eat pretty much constantly.

Yellowhead Jawfish (added 1st)
Melanurus Wrasse
Royal Gramma
2 Bangaii Cardinalfish must be a male + female
Mandarin (will be added 3/2013)
Starry Blenny

Overload or doing good?

Snorvich--- Not meaning to double post, I have a thread in this section about my 120g tank. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2187643

I wanted to post in this thread to get your opinion though.

I have a question about my current critters :spin2:

Inventory:

Equipment:
120g
2x Fluval FX5
2x ViaAqua 300-Watt Thermostat (set to 82)
1x ecoxotic 24" Panorama Pro (with Three 12K White/445nm Blue and two 445nm Blue modules) (Second exoxotic will be in today)
3x Hydor Koralia Evolution 1400 Aquarium Circulation Pump, 1400 gph
2x VorTech MP40wES Propeller Pump
1x Seachem Ammonia Alert
1x AquaTop In-Line UV Sterilizer 10W - IL10UV (not installed yet)

60lb of Live sand (fine) About 2" total across bottom
70lb of Live rock (from two places) (Just added 20 lb of coraline covered)

Critters:

Live rock (with 5+ bristle worms, 10+ dwarf brittle star fish, and APTASIA (almost all gone 2 left))
10 Chromis
6 Hermit
4 peppermint shrimp
4 Ocellaris Clownfish
2 Cinnamon Clown Fish
6 Snails (2" to 3" in size (each))

My levels are good and have stayed stable. I added a few at a time with 1+ week between each to maintain bio-load balance.

Someone else said that I have too many clowns and too many chromis. Clowns do better with just 2 and the chromis will widdle each other down to just one... (really??)

I am looking at getting 2 enomonies and eventually a few coral frags for color.

What do I need to take out or worry what might be floating? No one is fighting and they have all been friendly for 2+ weeks together as a group.

Thanks!

Both statements are (almost) correct. You will end up with at most 2 clownfish (I would bet on the cinnamon clowns) and at most two chromis.

What do I need to take out or worry what might be floating? No one is fighting and they have all been friendly for 2+ weeks together as a group.

Want to add. That is too many fish. When sexually mature the clownfish will want to control the tank. The damsel will be aggressive towards new water column fish

1-firefish will be intimidated
3-Spotted Cardinalfish too many fish
1-Yellow Watchman Goby Fish the watchman goby and lawnmower blenny should work out subject to the damsel allowing them to exist.
1-Lawnmower Blenny

55g FOWLR - no coral

Bioload is fine but you have some aggressive fish:

1x diamond watchman goby
1x blue devil damsel aggressive
1x percula clown
1x blue green chromi
1x dwarf flame angel
1x six line wrasse aggressive
1x orange lined cardinal fish

mixed in with various CUC

My tank is a 60" 100 gal. I'm planning on having a mixed reef (hardier corals)and a clam. I have a 20 gal sump, skimmer and hob phosphate reactor(will order this one soon). 125 lbs LR, 2" sand bottom. This is my planned stocking list. I want a peaceful community tank, with plenty of inverts, cleaner shrimp, brittle star, snails

Firefish - Will add first
Royal Gramma
Midas Blenny
Heniochus diphreutes
One of the less aggressive clowns
Kole tang
Foxface
1 or 2 peaceful wrasses (radiant, solon, hoevens)
Dispar or Carberryi Anthias.

In your opinion will this biolaod be on the heavy or light side?

100 Gallon fish tank! First time doing Salt Water!!!
20 pounds of live rock to start.
Kenya Tree coral. And other Coral Frags.
Fish:
3 Tank raised Clownfish
5 Yellowtail Blue Damsel

Any Suggestions?

slightly heavy but ok.

Room for one more?

75 mixed reef, established 3 years

pair osc clowns
flame angel
leopard wrasse
kupang damsel pair
trio bartlett anthias

Do I have room for more?

thinking of kole tang,
or a trio of pajama cardinals, or a
coral beauty

I currently have a 125 gallon tank that has been up and running for nine months (well I just transferred my contents from a 200 gallon that was running for nine months into the 125)

Current:
Occelaris clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris)
Yellow Tang (Zebrasoma flavescens)
Firefish, Purple (Nemateleotris decora)
Diamond Watchman Goby (Valenciennea puellaris)
Blue/Green Reef Chromis (Chromis viridis)
Lawnmower Blenny (Salarias fasciatus)

Additions:
Bartlett's Anthias (Pseudanthias bartlettorum)
Black Cap Basslet (Gramma melacara)
Red Mandarin (Pterosynchiropus splendidus var.)
McCosker's Flasher Wrasse (Paracheilinus mccoskeri)
Tanaka's Pygmy Wrasse (Wetmorella tanakai)

How is this for bioload? Is there room for more? I don't want to overstock...Would it be possible to add a small group of Orange Lined Cardinalfish (Apogon cyanosoma), maybe four or five)

Thanks again for your help.

I would not with the possible exception of the coral beauty; the flame angel will chase for a while, however.
