Hi, Doug here I have a 92 gallon corner, running a vertex 150 skimmer i picked up during black friday . Currently FOWLR but I intend to add corals as the tank matures so I'm trying to stay reefsafe with the fish.

Current stocking list
2x Ocellaris clowns (I hope to get them an RBTA when my tank has matured a bit more)
2x Purple firefish will become one over time
1 Lawnmower blenny

On the wishlist
1 Yellow tang or lemon peel angel (I would prefer the tang but from my research I have seen very mixed reviews some people say nothing short of 100g, and since my tank is a corner it doesn't have the width of a standard tank. While I have seen plenty of others say I should be fine.)

the tang needs a larger tank but your current one is marginally ok if you do not put another algae grazer and if the yellow tang is the last fish added (they become territorial)

1 Royal gramma

Gobies, Either a couple only one neon blue, or 1 of the gobies that pair off with a pistol shrimp.

A six line wrasse would be nice, im concerned it may start bullying the more timid fish such as my firefish. It would; also will greatly limit tank mates

I then want to add a small group of 3 or 5 blue green chromis to fill out the tank, however it seems people have mixed results keeping a group of these going! A group will diminish to one; also chromis are highly susceptible to uronema marinum so you better have a rigorous quarantine protocol

I plan on adding the fish slowly over time.

The most confusing part of this hobby is half of the forum posts I read say my fish or group of fish are model citizens, while the other half say they where a disaster. lots variables including tank size, tank mates, order of addition, and not least the personality of the individual fish. That is why this thread is so popular

I now have a mix of LPS/SPS/Softies that are all doing well.

Current livestock: In a 90 gallon tank

1 Royal Gramma
1 Pajama Cardinal
3 Blue-eyed Cardinals
1 Ocellaris Clown (he's mean)
1 Green Chromis
1 One Spot Foxface feed well or not coral safe
Cleanup Crew of snails/hermits hermits will kill snails long term

I would like to add:
1 Red Firefish
1 Yellow Clown Goby
1 Yellow Eye Kole Tang not with the foxface
1 Neon Blue Goby
Several cleaner shrimp (just threw this in in case any of the listed fish eat shrimp!).

In another 6 months or so after 9 months; add copepod piles to DT or add a refugium for best results :
1 Green Mandarin

Ok In regards to the firefish the guy at the store assured me they where fine if introduced at the same time I had intended on just the one til he said otherwise. Guess I'll be more cautious next time.

They will last together for about four months or less, than one will be intimidated and starve to death. The guy at the store sells fish.

i currently have:
2 gs maroons who breed every other week or so.
1 large yellow tang
1 small (still juvi color) defardini sailfin tang.
1 blue stripe cleaner wrasse (eats everything, inc nori!)
1 purple firefish
1 falco hawk
and thats it atm, i have been keeping marines for almost 5 years now so wouldn't consider myself as a novice.
i'm wanting to add to my system:
10-12 reef chromis or blue eyed cardinals
clown tang (i know about their poor survival records, lfs has had one for just over a year thats healthy and about 5")
aiptasia eating file fish.
a scarus quoyi parrot or a harlaquin tusk.
and possibly a few other wrasse etc.
does this all sound ok?

I have a 44 gallon five sided corner tank, approx. dimensions are 22"x22"x24". There is approx. 30 pounds of live rock, planning on adding another 10 pounds.

Current stock list is:

- Pair of ocellaris clownfish (1-1 1/2 inch in size)
- chocolate chip starfish
- emerald crab
- pom pom crab
- sponge crab
- 2 peppermint shrimp

We are looking to add a few more fish to the tank (not all at once) and am wondering about recommendations...Here are some of what we are considering.

- royal gramma
- puffer (not sure of exact species yet)
- purple dottyback
- banghai cardinal
- firefish
- recommendations???

Any help/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Nearing the start of cycling the tank. Have a tentative stocking list:

One Spot Foxface
McCoskers Wrasse
Yellow Tang

With this being my first time doing saltwater, is there a particular order that I should add the fish? I've read that the Yellow Tang should be the last one added. I think of the list i have, the Tang is the most aggressive, and it may not matter what order I add them, except I need to add the yellow last.

Is that an accurate assessment?

Absolutely. I would always try to add the firefish close to first

I have a 65 with a 29 gallon sump. My current stock list includes:
-1 pair of Amphiprion percula
-Pterapogon kauderni
-Pseudochromis fridmani

I would like to add the following
-a trio (1 male, 2 female) Paracheilinus carpenteri
-2-3 Chromis viridis
-Neocirrhites armatus

Or just
-Ctenochaetus tominiensis

If the dottyback will harasse the wrasses, I have another tank I can move it to.

I would like to add the following

Then I would like a small group, perhaps wrasse or anthias if my tank size isn't pushing it. Because of their social interaction, a group of anthias needs a longer tank; also, most anthias need multiple feedings per day for best results. A single anthias would work, however.
I'm just trying to put together a colorful community tank so if you have any other recommendations i'm open to suggestions.
