Sorry I've seen and used low end skimmers to "high end" skimmers and on the low end spectrum there is a difference. But the medium and "high end" skimmers all perform the same to me. I can't tell a bit of difference besides my wallet being lighter.

AMEN!!! I guarantee someone could design and mass produce quality skimmers and still make a profit at $1000-$2500 per skimmer. I mean that's what we're paying for these euro skimmers. And there's also the cost of shipping them from Europe. Don't understand why a company hasn't tried this yet

I think the skimmers were assembled in the US. They all still use cheap Chinese pumps. Wouldn't recommend them.

As with thee Artisan 50g tanks and larger, I am positive they are made in the US. I have been there and seen them being asembled right in Ontario CA.

I've been to Cadlights as well and have seen their operation. Less than impressed with the clutter and disorganized setup. I have also been victim of their horrible customer support and product warranty with Eddie. Not a company I would ever do business with again.

Because a $1000-2500 skimmer is an incredibly niche item. How many people in the U.S. drop that much coin on a skimmer each year?

Like I would know an exact number? I know chad moved 3+ shipments of skimmers, most in which were $1000+

With my self cleaning lid and external skimmate locker my skimmer setup is $1,100+

And that's just ATB, not to forget about Bubble King, Deltec, MRC, Reef Dynamics and ATI.

I originally asked the question. I would imagine the number of people that would purchase US made, $1000-2500 skimmers would not be of an adequate magnitude that one could turn a profit starting a business manufacturing them.

Did warner marine have skimmers that cost that much? I think my old Wm was only around 400 or so... not sure if he had bigger/higher end ones or not.
