Pooky's 300

Damn Kenny, those were really nice. The male's coloration is unbelievable. Sorry you lost them :(

Sorry about that Kenny, they were beautiful. They seem to be around lately, hope you can get some more. Goodluck man.

I hope so too, Brett. Looks like a small wave of them came in and the supply ran dry already. Heck, I would even take a bunch of females only.

The male was absolutely stunning. Even the female is beautiful compared to the mostly drab coloration on females of other species. Now you know why I've been searching for so many years.

THE most beautiful of the Genicnthus by far and the hardest to get...at least the male. Easy to see why the males are so prized. Maybe when I get the display back up I'll venture to the dark side.

G. semifasciatus is the hardest to find of the "readily" available Genies. There are a couple out there that's even harder but mostly due to the size of our wallets :lol2: You need to make the leap once your tank is back up. There is no dark side, just the bright. They are amazing. The two I have in QT right now are like puppy dogs. They are just so curious and playful. I love the way they swim around and inspect everything, even tho they've been looking at the same PVC pieces for almost a month

Maybe…

My corals have taken a beating so I will be mostly starting over and I’ve lost a few fish. I think that I’ll part with my Signaus dolitus so I'll have some more bio load room. He’s not aggressive but he’s getting kinda big and eats like a pig except for valonia which is why I got him in the first place. Maybe add a pair of centropyge and one large angel. Thoughts?

I got rid of my rabbitfish too since he never touched the valonia and he grew so dang fast. He would sit there and wait for the nori to be dropped into the tank. I have a clip tied to a piece of rock so it doesn't move around and he would literaly sit there on his stomach and much away like a hog :headwally:

A pair of cool Centropyge would be nice. What big angel do you mean? Like Chaetodontoplus big? I would suggest staying with the medium sized bunch like the Genicanthus if you like them.

Kenny-there's a trio of masked angels hitting Divers Den today. Just saw the Facebook update!

Yikes........the QT is not available right now........I wonder how much DD is going to charge for the trio.

Well, my trigger finger isn't fast enough and for $1000, even that was outrageous by DD standards. I know DD is usually priced higher but NOT this high. These fish don't come around that often but definitely don't deserve that kind of pricing. Guess some one had a fat wallet nontheless. They still had a lone female as of last night but at $300??? Really??? I think I'll save my money for some cool new sticks instead

Yeah, those were exactly the fish I was thinking about...we'll see. What I do see is the price of fish are still holding up. Geeze $1K for the trio? YIKES! I also saw the C. bathyphilus for a grip. I lost both of mine in the white tub :(

Yeah, I can understand paying more for quality fish and reputation but not at those prices, unfortunately. And fish prices haven't change much, unlike coral prices, which have really plummeted, much like the stock market :angryfire: Sorry to hear you lost your hooded. They do seem to come around now and then.

happy happy.........joy joy...........

I miss my big Naso Kenny :( She was 10" but liked to pace the front of the tank and scratched the crap out of my acrylic...she is now in a 300g glass tank...

Happy Friday Kenny

I'm so jealous of the C. bathyphilus...I'm a wrasse man. That guy is stunning :inlove:
