ProfiLux Plus III what do you want???

@:wrecker777:
That's something I would like, external display with food timer button.

-Software: NATIVE support for the MAC PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone who reads the news, knows that apple is on the highway and catching up.
-Being able to dim or deactivate the main display (I'm on my third one already).
-USB Connection on the system from the beginning. I don't think a single laptop gets produced today with a RS232 connection.
-Touchscreen for the external display as an upgrade. That way the main unit stays affordable and who want's to can upgrade.
-Graphic on the external display (graph for ph etc. etc.)
-I really wouldn't have a problem with a colour external display
-As mentioned ALARM + message on display what the problem is.
-USB Connection to a hub in which I can install more modules, it's cheaper that buying a new Profilux.
-Easier method to open up the casing, without thinking each time: "cr@p I think I just broke something".
-Accessory bracket for mounting the device.
-Better flash module, so that the settings get saved for much longer times.
-USB Connection on the front, plug in a stick and make a backup of all the settings (incase no pc or MAC :D can be connected).

That's all for now...

Your closer to GHL than most of us are Steven. Why are you on your third display? Was it breaking?

Love the Steyr AUG by the way, I got to carry/shoot one for a couple of weeks when I was on a joint US/Australian Army training exercise.

Ok you asked for it!

A. Unlikely until the demand is more apparent

-Being able to dim or deactivate the main display (I'm on my third one already).

A. As mentioned in the main post - will be a PIII feature

-USB Connection on the system from the beginning. I don't think a single laptop gets produced today with a RS232 connection.

A. As mentioned in the main post - will be a PIII feature

-Touchscreen for the external display as an upgrade. That way the main unit stays affordable and who want's to can upgrade.

A. New display will be part of the upgrade, touch screen, most likely again - As mentioned in the main post will be a PIII feature

-Graphic on the external display (graph for ph etc. etc.)

A. As mentioned in the main post - will be a PIII feature

-I really wouldn't have a problem with a colour external display

A. Likely

-As mentioned ALARM + message on display what the problem is.

-Easier method to open up the casing, without thinking each time: "cr@p I think I just broke something".

A. Never an issue as yet, but noted

-Accessory bracket for mounting the device.

A. Mounting for the ViewII Been around for ages please check the catalogue

As you can see most you require has already been implemented into the new release ;)

@jamesdawson:
The pixels started disappearing on the display, then lines. Got the first one changed. I then moved into my new apartment (1,5 years afterwards) and the display started freaking out again. Here in Europe when had a problem with the delivered power supplies with the PII, I changed the power supply but the problems persisted. Unfortunately the guarantee period was over, so I sent it to GHL and I'm on my third one now. Don't know what went wrong. In the mean time I bought a second PII (because everything on my tank is linked to the PII, if the repair takes a while longer, well sleepless nights for me!).

Yup! Love the AUG too :-) , never leave my base without it, and 3 full mags... Have you seen the Steyr AUG A3 or AUG A2 Commando yet? Unfortunately our ministry doesn't want to give us the cash to buy them...

@AQD_ottawa:
Good news, like I mentioned though, this thread struck me first, afterwards I saw the post from the Master of the Profilux himself ;-) . Think I should apply for a second job at GHL...

BTW, with the bracket I meant the main device not the VIEW II

Well my unit isn't meant for the children that steel the lunch from the other children in their classrooms ;)

dont know if its been suggested yet(havent read throught the entire thread yet) but is it possible to have a built in par meter with remote sensor so we can change bulbs as par falls off

I wonder how that would be achieved, we all have multiple lights, how do we know if the T5 or MH that is dropping in par?

How about the PC software being reformatted to 1440x900.

There are a lot of new computers floating around that have really nice widescreen monitors.

It would actually be easy to move it to the 800 x 600 just loose the logo bar.

I run it on a 1600 x 1050 screen but with all the surplus laptops
out there it would be nice to put them to use in our fishrooms.
A new laptop for a simple app is a bit overkill.

It would be nice to have a reaction time on the conductivity / salinity. My probe is in the sump, each time my ATO adds water to the sump (Elos ATO runs for approx 15 seconds) the conductivity probe goes into alarm mode for about 30 seconds until the water mixes again. A reaction delay would help this!

as a standard more sockets on the powerbar. Led lighting compatibility, like controlling arrays of leds, and rgb leds.

a built-in website suitable for mobile-phones.

please let the profilux 3 profiset be the same price as the plus 2 profiset , it should not get anymore expensive.. i'm not asking for a price-drop, but keeping things afordable in combination with all the promised features will end up in a lot more customers/adopters.

Touschscreen would be nice, better is all the data projected on the tanks glass.

websites these days use user generated content, the power of the people telling you what they need is great.. this initiative of asking us what we need is great.. If you really want the best of all worlds, why not make the system a little bit more open-source?
you supply the hardware, the genius programmers here on rc supply even better software.. without enabling other companies to copy the product of course.. Think of the google android phone...

I am sure asked, but how about wireless n std?

As for hardware a manual override kill switch on the power bars for the whole bar and each plug.

Open Source, I second that!

Hmmm, I dont, you will end up with a forum full of crippled ProfiLux's and everyone blaming the unit instead of their own errant programming

Good concept that gives a product a bad name just for trying to be helpful.

If this door is opened up the Profilux can no long hold a claim of bug free as there will be many users writing their own bugs into it and then it will be for us to have to sort the mess out when it all goes wrong

If GHL were lacking in Software development then I would see the need but they are on top if not ahead of most requests, and also listen closely to what you all want.

If there is ever a delay in releasing a feature then that is purely due to making sure it has been fully tested and worthy of being added to the software release list of functions.

Theory good guys, but too many people with sharp can openers on the edge of that can of worms ;)
