I got a crispa anemone about 3 weeks ago. It came in almost pale white, even though it looks attractive to the eyes, it is actually not a good sign. I stacked some rock work up so that the anemone has a "shield" from the powerheads within the tank.
The anemone did not attach after 3 days and I had to create a small crater and put the anemone in so that he was protected from all sides. He did attach after a few days and has not moved since.
The anemone's tentacles were also very small and I was afraid I was going to lose it. Then after 2 weeks of it being in the tank, the tentacles swelled up and it has started to get a brownish color and this is, from what I understand, is what you want.
Also, the anemone was a slow eater. I took a small turkey baster and sprayed some mysis shrimp near its mouth every 3 days. It did not eat the shrimp immediately but by the next morning, all the shrimp was gone. I am hoping that the fish/shrimp did not eat it.
This has been what was successful for me and I have never had one of these anemones before. The anemone will swell up in the afternoon when the lights are on and it will shrink down when the lights turn off. Seems like I am having decent luck. Hope this helps you.
