Purple Milli?

Won this cutie in a raffle. Was labeled Purple Millepora. I'm not so sure. IMHO, the branches are rather stick like and the coralites aren't as fully scalloped and are spaced far apart for a milli. It is shaggy though.

Acropora millepora will have short uniform branches and A. prostrata has long thing irregular branches. They are identical until they develop into a colony. Call it Purple Acropora cf. millepora for now and maybe revisit the topic when it has grow out more.

Awesome. I'm thinking prostrata. That's only about the top third of it in the photo and the rest is pretty much just a y shaped branch. It was the longer thinner branches that got me scratching my head about the A. millepora label originally.

I will leave the A. millepora door open until it grows out further though.
