Ray Nist Told me to post this said you might be able to help. I built a homemade recirculating skimmer out of 6 inch PVC that stands 5 foot tall to handle 450 gallons of water. I don't think I have it designed right I can't get it tuned in correctly and if I have a power failure when it starts up again it overflows the collection cup and blows water all over the floor.

After doing a little more research I might've figured out my own answer back to the plumbing store give it another try

Rich, I got your PM but have been very busy at work of late. Post a pic of what you have. Give info on pumps, both for the recirc and for feed. I don't get out that way too much, but I'm pretty sure me or Bill could figure it out if we saw what you have.

thanks for replying misled.crises averted ,ended up being broken blade on recirculation pump which blocked a section of my return.therefore no bubbles and overflow onto floor.Fixed pump and cleared blockage also had to make new venture since I broke mine in the process and it works better

Cool. You can still take some pics of it and show us. Engineer's brains function better with pics and we all like to see different stuff.

I put some pics in the album in my profile. don't get too excited though, I was going for functionality not apperance

That's pretty good. I think this is the one of mine you saw.

It was air stone driven, but it did very well on a 90 I had set up a few years back.
