Questions about H. Magnifica

My LFS has an anemone listed as a BTA but I think it might be a H. Magnifica. Could someone please tell me how I can make sure it is a HM and not a BTA? Also how can I tell if it is a healthy one? They are selling it for $75 so would this be a good deal?

Thanks

James

Thats one expensive BTA. Well you can check for the veraccue or wtvr its called, those dots running up the foot of the anemone. If there are then its probably a mag. Some description of the anemone and possibly a picture would help. Also the usually have more than one color, with the tips of the tentacles different than the rest of the tentacles

He said it opens up to be about 12-15 in. The fery tip had a dot of a different color but other than that they were solid green. So if its not a mag then you would say that its priced too high?

So if it doesn't have the veraccue then there is no way its a mag right?

no verrucae, then not an H. Mag. that would be a very large BTA but they do get that big, i have seen them bigger. a pic would be best. but for an anemone that large as long as its healthy and your willing to pay for it, i would say that is a fair price.

yeah that sounds like a bta. A lot of green BTA's have very small purple dots on their tips. I would pay maybe $60 for a bta, maybe $50.

Here is a pic of a BTA with that sort of color pattern.
