i have been following the RKE thread for a couple months now...

The RKE is going to be epic.

The feature list when compared to the $ is a very good ratio. Have you guys checked out the thread in the Digital Aquatics forum?

Yeah, literally same stuff as the ACIII for the most part at a lower cost with what is included. Like I said the only difference that may be the deciding factor here for me is the uber programmability part of the AC.

I just checked out the comparison sheet on all those controllers and I'm really leaning towards the ACIII Pro...I have to agree with you Evan, the programmability is pretty awesome!

WOOT! If you do it Zig I'll do it :D

I can't sleep and I start my week long Series7 review course tomorrow at 9am.. So what better to do than stay up and pod watch until the wee hours of the morning. I love feeding my refugium Cyclopeeze and Boyd's Vitadiet and watching everything go nuts. Pods are so interesting.

Evan,

Did you ever pickup the aqua controller 3 ?

I just picked up the aqua controller pro w/ probes, modules, & calibration fluid.

I'm hoping marc can make me some probe holders.

Nope not yet. I'm studying like crazy for this stupid Series7 exam and haven't had time to really do the research I want on it yet. I was thinking the pro as well. You like it so far? How was the install?

Tank update:

My copperband was getting stressed and still wasn't touching the frozen foods I had. I was pretty sure he had cleaned off most of the live rock by this time.

I made a run to the Central Market and got 5 live clams to open and try. He wouldn't touch them. So I called around and found some live blackworms at an LFS. I put about 15 in (with a turkey baster cause they can transmit Hepatitis B ewwww). He ignored them as my clown devoured them all.

I came back upstairs to read more tricks on feeding them and got frustrated. I went back downstairs and said screw is and took a HUGE squirt of blackworms in the baster and put them all in the return section of my sump.

The Mag7 basically blasted them all at the copperband and one hit him in the face and mostly out of reaction he ate it. Then it was like opening pandora's box. My CBB is now a blackworm lover.

He ate all the worms he could find and seems content for the moment. Time to try and trick him into frozen mysis.

Thanks! I don't understand how these things have survived this long in nature. They are sooo picky with food you have to literally hit them in the face with it to get them to eat.

Here is an Excell chart with some info. on various controllers.
The research is from 4/07 by an RC member, Sorry I don't remember his name, but he really put a lot of effort into making it available.

Evan,

I just ordered some probe holders from nick's acyrlic (should arrive some time next week). I'll let you know when I hook them up.

Glad to hear you got your copperband to eat...you should tell marc that little trick (lol). :D

Did you ever use those mj mod kits ?

Good luck with your exam...I heard it's pretty tough.

Thanks gim. I got a 68.8 on my exam 172/250. 3 more questions and I would have passed. It has been a pretty crushing day. I've already put a month into studying. I have to wait 30 more days before I can take it again.

Marc is hording the maxi mods :( He'll be out of town Saturday when I check his tank, I bet I can find them MUHAHAHA

Evan,

Uhhhh soooo close !

I have a friend who took it a couple of times also.

Hopefully the second time is the charm ! :)

Now that my testing is on hold for the moment I'll update you.

On the 11th I received shipments #4 and #5 of the 6 :D The first was a Pinpoint Digital PH meter from Ebay I received for about 75 dollars shipped.

I ran down to CVS and picked up some AAA batteries for it. While I was there I got a Vick's digital thermometer to try and figure out with of my Lifeguard Temp Meters were lying. Stupid Vick's box didn't say it wouldn't read anything below 90F but the manual did once it was open :( Gotta return the piece of crap.

The PH meter was installed with the probe in my sump. Read the numbers and weep :D

Package #5 was a LED spotlight grow bulb I wanted to try on my fuge from ebay for 10 bucks shipped. I actually ordered the wrong one (that's what I get for having about 30 Firefox tabs opened at once) and it's not as bright as the once I wanted. It's still pretty sick though.

Here's the old PC bulb I had that the LED bulb will replace.

Here's the new bulb and packaging.

And again 2-11-08 I took some tank shots for record purposes and growth comparisons. I have really noticed the effects of the vitamin C on the softies (zoas and frilly mushroom). The hair algae is the cause of overfeeding to try and get my CBB to eat something (these were taken prior to the success with blackworms and most of the algae is now gone).
