RBTA and partial shade from MH?

i've had my RBTA for about a week now. it seems more content when just actinics are on OR if it's in a shaded part under MH. i have it under MH now, about 1/3 up in tank, but w/ a branch fiji LR bridge over it, allowing partial bright light to it. do RBTA like bright MH light or not? it came from a low lit tank w/ normal flurescents. i acclimated it slowly to my lights(2X250W MH w/ 2X95W actinic VHO). now up to almost 6 hrs/day MH. when i put RBTA in, i had it cut down to 3 hrs/day, slowly increasing 30min-1 hr a day up to today. my VHO's have been on full 13hr photoperiod. i also still have tank covered w/ eggcrate, which i usually don't. i thought the RBTA was definately settled today but forgot to cover w/ eggcrate after feeding. i went out, and when i came back, MH had come on and he climbed up LR into kinda shade almost up into overflow:rolleyes: . today was first time i touched it. i carefeully got him off glass and placed in front, under a porous LR bridge allowing partial bright light and mod flow. i fed him a silverside and seemed happy.

I have some right on top of my rockwork right under 400Watts 20K halides and some 2/3rds down in much less light. Given time, I think they can adapt to whatever you have. My clones that have more light are lighter colored hot pink and bubbly while the ones lower down are darker and less bubbly. They were previously under 150 watt 15K with NO flourescent actinics and all did not move to the top of the rockwork.

I have mine under 220 w pc and r doing fine.

RBTAs thrive in lighting as low as 100w to 500w IME.

So where da pics?

My RBTA sits right under my 150w DE HQI 10k bulb, and reaches for the light.

I have dual 150w DE HQI 10k's and 192w actinic in my 55g.
