RedPlanet Vs. Green Cap

I've always been told that acros can handle themselves around monticaps, but my ORA Red Planet seems to be having a problem with LiveAquaria's Green Apple Monticap. What would you guys advise?

Move, cut cap away, putty over cap near acro, or just let nature take it course. Depends how much you like the coral.

Pretty basic stuff for sps.

Had the same issue with a millie and Idaho Grape cap. I removed the cap and epoxied over the remaining encrusting bits.

I dont have this issue with Orange cap, as a matter of fact, i glued frags directly on it to se how they would grow together.

So you guys don't think that if I remove the Red Planet and attach it somewhere in the middle of the cap it would be able to encrust over it? I thought maybe it was just having a problem with the aggressive leading-edge of the monticap?

My Red Planet grows right into and then encrusts over my Tyree Flower Petal Monti, clearing about a quarter inch as it goes. I have to keep fragging the Red Planet back.
Guess it depends on the type of Monti.

I mounted a Hawkins right on a Tyree Flower Petal Monti and the monti also grows right into a blue tipped tenius colony without damaging it. I agre that it depends on the monty ... keep idaho grape away from EVERYTHING lol
