this is awesome. is this in your house?

Yes, it is in a bedroom. When it's finished their will be over 60 tanks up & running. I also have a 240 gal. reef & 60 gal. seahorse tank in the family room along with seahorse fry in my office.

Bob I didn't know you bred dottybacks also, this is awesome!
I have a single specimen, maybe you can help me determine it's sex so I can have a pair:)

Dottybacks are opposite of clownfish. In clownfish the larger more agressive one is the female as in dottybacks it is the male. They change sex so you only need 2 to form a pair. It is easier to put 2 in a tank at the same tjme then to add one later. What kind of dottyback do you have?

nice setup, what clowns are you working with at the moment???

I have 3 pairs of Ocellaris 2 pairs of Black & White clowns 2 pairs of Orchid Dottybacks. All of them are breeding. Also have Erectus Seahorses but they stopped breeding a few months back. Have some Peppermint Shrimp that are 10 weeks old.
I am looking to add pairs of grade a Picasso's , Platimun, & Snowcasso.

Now I'm using 20 gal. high tanks. I was using 10 gal. tanks & had the same quality fish but it was taking longer to get them to a sellable size.

I like the 20Hs, very accomodating. I have a few 29s, but really like the 20s. I just wish that I had more room for them.

I've got an orchid dottyback that's been in the display for almost a year now, so it may not work pairing them up you think? More aggression from the established one?

awesome reefstew. Can you go into more details of your breeding, broodstock, and growout tanks? are they all plumbed together?

I would think it's a 50/50 chance they would pair up. I would try it. 3 local stores in town have my dottybacks.
