I have 2 IT2080 and I am amazed at them.still getting the hang of them but are these lights controlled separately. I thought one fixture can control the other ?
well i've decided once my tax returns come in im going to purchase a fixture. bang for the buck there is nothing that comes close. is the only difference between the d120 and the IT2040 (photon24) is the control and and the length of the fixture? power output is the same?

I am setting up a 220 (72 x 24 x 30), and am curious about the controllables.
The 16" has 4 more LEDs than the 24". Is there a reason?
I was thinking of 3 of the 24" but would 3 of the 16" be better due to the extra LEDs ?
Or would I be better with 2 of the 32"?
3 of the 16" fixtures would work a little bit better with the deeper tank, as the LEDs are closer, and the light will spread out less with the depth of your tank. I would use 90 degree optics, because your tank is 24" front to back, and 60s would be a little tight. The reason for less LEDs, is that it makes the fixture easier to wire (on the circuit boards) and allows the LEDs to be spread out for more efficient cooling.
Thanks for the quick reply!
Hope the snow is not causing too many troubles for you.
Are the optics easily removable? I've seen where people replace the non blue or white optics with 120 degree together a wider spread. What would you recommend?
Power output would be about the same, however the Photon24 will spread the power more evenly over a 3 foot area.
How easy is it to mount (not hang) one of these in a canopy?
Could the hardware used to hang it be replaced with bolts?
im curious on how easy it is to hang what all does it come with to hang? will I need to buy any brackets or anything to hang fromt the wall?
Another random question.
I know you can link the controllable units.
Does the value fixture have two power cords? If it does I could use a timer if necessary.

We managed to make it to the streets, but UPS and USPS will not be open for some time. The optics simply twist of, I do not put wider optics on the colors, it seem to work well either way. Thanks for the quick reply!

it is pretty simple, just be sure you cut holes fr the fans, and have fans on the side of the canopy removing moist air.How easy is it to mount (not hang) one of these in a canopy?

Yes, you can. No optics is about 120 degrees of spread.if i order a 90 degree photon24, can i remove optics if need be? if so is the LED the usual 120 degree without optics?
We will put it on the site.Does anyone know where i can find the reefbreeders value fixture led layout?
2 Photon24s would workHey guys, I'm doing a 93 marineland cube. 30x30x24 and was wondering about a controllable fixture that could do SPS, LPS and more. What do you recommend?
You would need wall brackets to hang from the wall. The value fixtures have kits that work up to 12" over the fixture, the Photon series has adjustable hanging kits that take care of up to about 3' over the fixtures.im curious on how easy it is to hang what all does it come with to hang? will I need to buy any brackets or anything to hang fromt the wall?
Yes, you can remove the hanging posts. We are not responsible if it fails, of course, so use a strong bolt, I would say 10-32 or bigger.I would assume you need either the ceiling or a support system attached to the tank, I dont think it comes with one?
I personally want to mount it directly to my canopy, with enough space for the cord on top. Of course, I was planning on drilling out holes to match the fans on top for ventilation. Similar to what you would find on the sides of a canopy..
My question is: Could the hanging posts it comes with be modified to accept a bracket, or other hardware, to allow me to mount it directly to the top of the canopy?
Adding another fixture, or selling it for a Photon24 would work, if you are going all sps, 2 value fixtures will be more powerful than one photon24. 120 degree optics would work fine on tanks up to 24" deep.Ok I posted earlier in this thread about having the value fixture over my 44g pentagon and I love it. Well today I switched everything over to a new 40 gallon breeder(36x18x16). Right now I have the 16" fixture over the tank but I'm guessing I need more if I'm going to have a lot of sps.
What would you recommend? Just adding another value fixture to it? Maybe sell the value fixture and get a 24" fixture? Also, it has the standard 120 optics and I'm assuming this would be good for such a shallow tank, correct? I need to post some pics of my 44 gallon because everything was looking great under this light!
Also, are we still looking a 3 weeks before the value fixtures ship?
We did not edit the value fixtures description yet, we changed all of our layouts.I was looking at all 4 of the fixtures and their layout. I noticed that the three "photon" are all somewhat similar in ratio of leds. However, I noticed that the value uses different lights for the "whites." Is there a reason or is there a recommendation of a better color for the value fixture.
