Reefbreeders/(Evergrow OEM) Fixtures D120/IT20** series

I think it will be adequate. The center under the light will be plenty, at the edges there is probably still enough, but you might consider getting some 120 degree lenses (they're cheap... like $0.20 each) and use them if you need them in the last row or 2 at the ends. Lets see what bhazard451 and/or RB think.

Should I get the 90 degree optics?

I simply removed the optics on the last 6 rows on each end, it created a nice balance of power. EG told us that the 120 degree optics were equal to the 90s BTW, so we do not use them.

What do you/they mean by 'equal to'? Are you saying there is no difference between the 90 lens and the 120 lens? That doesn't make much sense. Or are you saying the bare led is 'equal to' the 120 lens? Or is this an english to chinese and back to english lack of understanding? I had a couple of those when dealing direct with EG. EG said the leds are 90 degrees. When I took off the 90 lenses I got a little more spread, not as much as I'd like. So, do you have 120 lenses in inventory? I'm ready to order some and want to measure the difference between 90 lens, bare led and 120 lens. Mail me one and I'll do the test and send you photo results. Besides, I think the fixture with some lenses on and some lenses off looks a bit silly. Even if the 120 lens gives the same spread as the bare bulb, at $0.20 each I'll pay for lenses to make it look a bit more professional. JMHO.

I was about to buy 2 radions gen1 for my tank then I saw this and was like hmmmm.

I have a Radion gen 1 if you want a cheap one. I consider it a difficult to use (hook up a computer to make changes... really?), over priced, predecessor to the EG IT2040, and the IT2080 is twice the light of a Radion gen 1 (or gen 2 or pro for that matter).

You want 90 degree lenses, IMHO.

Yeah I was thinking 90 degree, just wanted to confirm.

Thank you for your help :)

No, they said that the 120s did not have that much of a difference from the 90s. I will test them myself if you insist, you are welcome to some 120s when our next shipment comes in.

Is there a reason I'm getting ignored by reefbreeders? All I want is to buy a fixture and line your pockets. What's the deal?

I am not ignoring you, I called you ealier today, and replied to your emails.

If you look back at the posts you answered none of my questions, but you were quick to answer other members for some reason. Anyway I'm sorry but before you called I had already made that post and ordered from reefsupply canada. Just don't understand why you replied to everyone but me. Also, I did not send you any emails. I tried to seek advice from you and figure out what I needed for my situation. Again I'm sorry, the order is already placed and I don't want to cancel it.

Sorry for not getting back to you on the forums ASAP, I left right after my last post to shovel snow, like I explained to you over the phone, I am snowed in atm, the snow is too much even for my plow, and the roads still have 3 feet on them. I hate to make excuses, but I would have gotten back to you faster under other circumstances. I got back to you in under 3-4 hours, so I was not ignoring you at all.

My post was at 7:24am, so it was 9 hours and you had no problem replying to ron reefman during that time frame. I guess you missed it somehow..

... I have been replying to most questions en masse at the end of the day, and I was referring to your last post that you made after mine.

What led chips are they using on the it series?
Bridgelux.

So do you guys think their default layout is good as far as colors of LEDs they use? What are you guys who are doing custom layouts choosing
We have been updating our layout on a regular basis as we find new combinations that work better. Our layout works with most people, however we do offer a custom option for those who want a whiter or bluer look than the 14K color our default layout puts out.

well i've decided once my tax returns come in im going to purchase a fixture. bang for the buck there is nothing that comes close. is the only difference between the d120 and the IT2040 (photon24) is the control and and the length of the fixture? power output is the same?
