Reefbreeders/(Evergrow OEM) Fixtures D120/IT20** series

What can be done to illuminate a 48 inch tank fully? Two 24" photons?
This will all need to fit into a 13" tall canopy. Maybe it is beneficial to have lower intensity lighting at the ends. What do you think the best solution is?

I have a photon32 over my 75 and as Logan said the outer 6" is dimmer but IMO its welcomed. If I put an LPS on the middle sand bed without acclimation it will bleach and this is running at 55% blue 40% white. The outside gives you a nice low light acclimation area and a great place for softies. If you want a full SPS tank go with 2 smaller fixtures for a mixed reef i'd go with the 32".

The website says that the Photon24 has 51 LEDs and the Photon16 has 55. Assuming these are the two choices which one would be better for 36" of tank?

The Photon24. The 4 LEDs make little difference in power, and the fixtures length allows it to cover a 36" tank evenly.

I have a 6ft tank. Two 32s are perfect.

That is what I would reccomend as well. However you can keep sps directly under the 2 Photon24s, and lps elsewhere. I f you want to go cheap, go with 3 value fixtures. They will now be coming with heat sinks, as well as the Photon24s.

Just ordered a 24". Unfortunately the wife demands control-ability and my wallet demands under $350. i don't plan on keeping much in the way of SPS anyway, so any I get will just get centered under the light.

Will the value fixtures I ordered last week have heat sinks?

I just ordered a 32" and chose the custom LED layout. I want to change the outside moonlights to violet, and add some 14k and 20k in various areas. I downloaded the excel layout, but not sure how to properly fill it out. Can you please let me know how to proceed? Also, what is the current lead time?

Bhazard (or anyone who knows for that matter) I have the IT2040 and am looking to open it up and change a few of the LEDs out for some different spectrum ones. I had a few questions in hopes you may have already done this. Are the LEDs screwed down and have thermal paste or are they thermal adhesived down? Also I have the unit and don't have the green reds or UV's in, but got what I think was the set up you originally got, I am thinking about adding those colors do you recommend? I got the uv's and green as my extras and am trying to find a place to buy the reds and no one from evergrow is responding at least not sunny, any other places I could get them online, just want to make sure I get ones with the same forward voltage that will work well with the machine?

Thanks so much

I'm thinking of getting the Photon 32 on my oceanic tech 90- the tank is eurobraced, so the top opening is about 42" across and 12" front to back.

Logan said there might be some falloff toward the sides- I'm trying to imagine how much it would really "fall off".... I don't really care about keeping SPS on the edge of the tank or anything, I just want it to look right.

Anyone else have a 32" on a eurobraced 48" tank?
Should I just pop the reflectors off a few LED's on the ends to open up the light?

Thanks for your input,
Jan

Done, and waiting for a response. I've asked for updates on when these lights will ship a few times and it's coming up on a week since payment was sent out. Any response would be better than nothing.

The OEM company makes large batches every 2-3 weeks or so and sends it to the US. I would expect it to hit RB and then to you within a week or two.

I bought mine 2-3 weeks ago, Logan said Monday it will ship.. Fingers crossed. So you should see yours sometime next week prob.

Sorry about not getting back to you, yeah, EG has a ton of orders coming in right now, and their suppliers are moving slow as well. We be giving the line another quality boost, to help compensate for the wait time. For now, we reccomend holding off until our units are all in stock in a couple weeks. (the 2 weeks estimate does not apply to previous orders, they will go out soner than that). There is a longer winded update on our forum here, if I missed anything it would be there.

It will ship next week, but not Monday unfortunatly. we were told the untis would ship today 3 days ago, then updated last night, that it would not happen until next week, no exact date atm. We appologize for any delays, they are not on our end, as we put the orders in for more units than were purchased a while ago. The units are all paid for and being built.
