ReefKeeper SW Update - MyReef 2 production

Looks like DA released the production MyReef software for the ReefKeeper Elite and ReefKeper Lite.

I update my RKE today and i must say it is quite nice. If updating from a computer isn't enough, you can now name all the modules and switches which makes life easy!

My system is completely up and running and I love it. It would have been nice to do this through the net module, but all things will come in time!

If you have been thinking of updating now might be the time!

Good to have a computer wiz as a member of this forum,LOL.I was waiting for you to post up since DA announced the release. I still have to send in my sid for the upgrade.I didn't trust myself as It may have been to tempting at that point to download the beta version.Whitch I juist know I would have got myself into a real mess with that.Graves & gagets ,bad combination.Graves-a few beers & gagets ....= broken reefkeeper.
Glad its finally out and you got it working.Still going to stick with my plan and watch your progress for at least a little while to see how it goes.-Steve
 
Send your SID out. it will take two weeks to get back. at that point over Christmas vacation i will come over and update the RKE in exchange for a beer :)

The MyReef software connects directly to the data bus using the supplied SID. The only hassle is the need to have your laptop wired to the bus. I'm going to order up a wireless USB extension from IOGEAR to solve that issue. it would have been nice if they supported communications through the NET module.

The SL2 has some switch ports and an isolated PH probe and salinity probe. The salinity probe has had issues so they pulled it, the PH is great though!
 
The RKL head is plugged into one bus and the temp probe is plugged into the other. Thats why I was asking about the SL2 thinking that it had more bus inputs on it. I have a laptop I'm dedicating to the system.
 
I haven't spent any hands on time with the RKL, read somewhere there is a Y splitter. Alternatively you could pick up a hub from DA which is fairly inexpensive.
 
Wow, sorry to hear about the issues. I'm a long time user of Neptune stuff and have just recently tried playing with a couple of DA RKL's. I'm a little confused, it sounds like the net module is not what connects you to the internet.... than what is the net module for??? And if I'm reading this right, the Aquabus connects to a USB port so that monitoring your RK requires you to basically have a computer on all the time? I'm wondering if it's realistic to connect these to the internet, so I'm following your thread with anticipation.

My problem is fixed hope you had good luck as well. Read your post on the DA site looks like things are looking up. How did everything fair through all of it.
 
We are working through it. My system is fairly complex compared to most folks. Next week I'm on vacation and should have a chance to dig in a little more.
 
I have the power loss issue down to my dual 250 halides. interesting problem. these worked plugged into my reefkeeper (as long as I used another electrical circuit to power the PC4). I had a lot of bus errors and daily resets, but at the end of the day no major issues.

now the breaker on the tank circuit is popping when the halides on an interdependent timer powered on another circuit turn on. I went as far as to get an extension cord and run to a line far away to another electrical circuit - same problem, the fish tank circuit pops.

I can understand there is an RF interference issue, but why all of a sudden am I throwing breakers when before the FW upgrade it never happened.
