Reefs Dying, Stores Bashed, this brought a smile.

Yeah, cool...

Then again I've heard a story that might scare some people. A friend of mine told me about his father(or his father's friend...but it is a true story) when he was young and how he used to work at his college's bio department taking care of fish. All of a sudden, really expensive fish started disappearing from their tanks. Naturally, he was first one accused and he told them the truth...he wasn't stealing any fish. The next day, they installed cameras in the lab and found out the culprit...an octopus!! He was pushing off the lid of his tightly closed tank, getting out, crawling across the floor, up the other side, climbing in other fishes tanks, eating them, crawling back to the other side and back in his tank before anyone was the wiser. He would go so far as shutting his lid to make the appearance of no fowl-play...Crazy, mischevious little animals to say the least.

Yeah Craig I've heard that they can do that....it's amazing. You can give them a bottle with a lid and they can unscrew it. The guy who had this one hitchhike had it move into the fuge somehow. The sad thing is that they only live for around 2 years. Is that true for all species?

I have a friend that loves these guys and actually plays with them each day or he says that get bored. He has all kinds of toys for them and they love the interaction. Most do only live about 2 years, unfortunately.

Not all octopus live in the water...some actually live in trees. Don't believe me? Lol...see the following:

I found very little info on the tree octo when I was doing research a few years ago for a paper, but I did find LOTS of info on some other interesting critters that are similar. Do a search for rainforest nautilus, bush haggis, taniwha and sand dune squid. Amazing stuff.
