rigleautomotive's Tank Pics Thread

Thanks John, funny you should say that.I have actually been ramping the reactor up a bit lately to keep the params where I like them.Over time the normal drip rate and BPM count have really increased.Something you dont realize until someone mentions it.When i first started running the reactor the BPM count was around 30 /min and now i am up to 60/min and a pretty fast drip rate.

Wow!!! After reading a lot of your posts and advice on the ETSS Skimmer Club board, I'm not surprised you have such a beautiful display. A true testament not only to your husbandry practices and care for the animals you keep, but also a +1 for the ability of a properly tuned downdraft skimmer.

This has to be a Tank of the Month....NOW!!!!!

Congratulations and kudos on such a breathtaking display. I shudder to think what those pictures would look like if taken by a professional photographer.

wow... spectacular!!!

Thank you

Absolutely stunning shots! It really looks like a piece of an actual reef!

As some of you may know I am a novice at best at photography. I have always battled the too blue syndrome trying to capture the true colors of the corals I shoot.Running Radiums and VHO actinics the tank appears quite pleasing to my naked eyes but as to my dismay my photos look a bit blue no matter where I try the WB with the actual color of the coral not looking correct when I remove some of the blue in post processing.Anyway here are a few shots with no lights on and just ambient light and a flash in some instances for the purists in the crowd

Thanks Peter.I was actually quite shocked and pleased at how the photos looked with no lights.I assumed the corals would not show any color. It shows its really not the lights that color the coral but more like the pigments the coral develops in different K lights

You know me too well bud.I just tossed a 10 year old symphillia that systematically got its mouths eaten out by a psycho copperband until it started to RTN.This coral could live in a sewage system and be happy but could not survive this little fishy.Thats why I hate fish.lol
But this guy is so peacefull and calm I kinda dont hate him.Heck I will go out on a limb here and say I almost like him.But as many of you know, growing coral is my goal and fish are just another tool of the trade

I just went through the whole thread and all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Your tank is awesome! It needs to be TOTM, where do I vote.

I was expecting to see Dan's tank on the homepage this month. Instead we get some non-photo softie tank??? what up with that.
